Veterans sacrifice so that those of us who remain behind, may retain our freedom. Too often they are ignored or demeaned when they should be saluted and honored. Veterans Day is set aside by a one time grateful nation to do just that, honor and salute those who have served and sacrificed. While I am no longer sure that this nation is grateful for the sacrifice given, I know that I am. This post is a reminder to honor those who have served and are serving. If you love our Vets please take a moment to pray for them and pray for peace. Perhaps one day soon, it will no longer be needed for some to sacrifice for others.
Veteran’s Day Prayer
Dear Lord,
Today we honor our veterans,
worthy men and women
who gave their best
when they were called upon
to serve and protect their country.
We pray that you will bless them, Lord,
for their unselfish service
in the continual struggle
to preserve our freedoms, our safety,
and our country’s heritage, for all of us.
Bless them abundantly
for the hardships they faced,
for the sacrifices they made
for their many different contributions
to America’s victories
over tyranny and oppression.
We respect them, we thank them,
we honor them, we are proud of them,
and we pray that you will watch over
these special people
and bless them with peace and happiness.
In Jesus’ name we pray; Amen.
My friend Grumpy Elder has a story on a Vet that is being forced from his home. Now this is bad enough but to add insult to injury, the man is being forced to exhume his wife who is buried on the property and move her as well. I realize that sometimes bad things happen, but this is a case where there are other options available if the people involve were willing to work with the man. Please take time to read the rest of the story at Grumpy’s Opinions

I’m no lawyer at all, but it looks like Warren C. Bodeker is getting a raw deal, I have no idea what can be done about it except to ask if someone knows a smart, obnoxious lawyer with some ethics willing to take on another obnoxious lawyer…….
A legal fund has been set up, details are at the bottom of the article linked below..
Publicity will help the old gentleman, and won’t help the trustee’s law practice any, so make sure the story gets around….
On NOVEMBER 9, 1954, President Eisenhower addressed the National Conference on the Spiritual Foundation of American Democracy at the Sheraton-Carlton Hotel, Washington D.C.: “Now Dr. Lowry said something about my having certain convictions as to a God in Heaven and an Almighty power. Well, I don’t think anyone needs a great deal of credit for believing in what seems to me to be obvious…This relationship between a spiritual faith…and our form of government is…so obvious that we should really not need to identify a man as unusual because he recognizes it.” Eisenhower continued “Our whole theory of government finally expressed in our Declaration…said…Man is endowed by his Creator…When you come back to it, there is just one thing…that a man is worthwhile because he was born in the image of his God…Democracy is nothing in the world but a spiritual conviction…that each of us is enormously valuable, because of a certain standing before our own God.” Eisenhower concluded: “Any group that…awakens all of us to these simple things…is, in my mind, a dedicated, patriotic group that can well take the Bible in one hand and the flag in the other, and march ahead.”

After the Japanese decimated our fleet in Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941, they could have sent their Troop Ships and Carriers directly to California To finish what they started.
The prediction from our Chief of Staff was we would not be able to stop a Massive Invasion until they reached the Mississippi River.
So, why did they not Invade?
After the war, the remaining Japanese Generals and Admirals were asked that question. Their answer……They know that almost every home had guns and the Americans knew how to use them..Read the rest…

Sami has a wonderful post here about a different time in America and comparing to some of the things today. I would like to take a few minutes and add a little to it. I remember getting up in the morning and having to get wood for the stove. I remember pushing the hay out of the loft for the cows and milking before I went to school.
I remember gathering eggs and feeding the chickens.
I remember my grandfather slopping the hogs and butchering them for ham, bacon and pork chops. I remember going hunting with my family and getting a deer, rabbit or even squirrel. We didn’t go to the store for everything we ate. I remember working in the garden, hoeing, weeding and harvesting the crop.
I remember helping my mother to can. My grandmothers and aunts canned everything, even fish.
I still occasionally make clothes for myself or my granddaughter. I know how to knit and crochet. I know how to build furniture and my husband knows how to build houses from the ground up, including cabinets, plumbing and electricity. We have always recycled. My grandfather ran the town dump before they outlawed people getting stuff from them, we got most of our toys and clothes that way. It’s amazing what other people throw away. Diamond wedding rings, wedding gifts. A veritable treasure was to be had going through the dump. Are people greener today than back then? Think of the way we used to live and take time to read a little history and perhaps you will rethink you first answer!
How Wasteful the Older Generation Was!
In the line at the

The former generation did not care enough to save our environment.” He was right, that generation didn’t have the gr … Read More
When Decoration Day began in the south it started as a time to remember those who had died, not just those who served in the Military and in many of our small towns across the south, it still is. After World War II it morphed to include all the military that died in the war as a way for the nation to honor and remember the sacrifice that those who died had given. I think that perhaps it is one of our most important holidays and if we lose our memories of the sacrifices it lessens us as a people,
In places like Arkansas where I live, we celebrate Memorial day, but we also participate in Decoration Day. Unfortunately, because of the emphasis on backyard BBQ‘s and trips to the lake, it is beginning to die out. For many years ladies in my church would make the flower arrangements to put of the graves of the loved ones but this year we decided not to do it. There were plenty left from last year and there just was not the demand for the flowers.
I think that when Decoration Day began it was a way to make sure that people didn’t forget their history. Many of those were immigrants from other lands and this was a way of reminding their relatives of where they had come from and why they had come. It was also a way, in a time where death came often, and many times unexpectedly, that no matter what, that person was still am important part of the family and their history. It was a time that showed the importance of God and family.
With the massive loss of life abroad in WWII, it also became a time that included country in with the family and God. More than ever it is important that we encourage people to remember those who have died and the reasons that they did. If we lose that memory and it becomes just a day to party, we lose more that just tradition, we lose our history. And if we lose our history, I am afraid that we will lose our own relevance in the world.
It is my hope that each person in the United States would take a few minutes to remember all those who have died that we may remain free. In a time when we are involved in three wars, we need, more than ever to remember the people, their families and the country. We also need to take a few minutes to pray for those who are still fighting, that God will watch over them and should they die, they will not be forgotten.
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
Every year on Memorial Day we honor our fallen soldiers that gave their life that we might be free! Today more than ever we need reminded that freedom isn’t free. With each day our liberties are being eaten away by a voracious government that seems determined to decide for us every minute detail of our lives.
This country’s Constitution states that our rights are given to us by God, and the Bible tells us that what He gives, no man can take away. They may kill our bodies, but our souls belong to the Creator. We can choose to keep those rights that our men and women died for, or we can give them up. So if we should lose those rights, it is only because we weren’t willing to die for them.
This post is for the men and women who have already proven to God and the world that they are willing to die to keep those rights. If we do nothing else in the next few hours, let us show that honor proudly and let us not be cowed by those in power who have little or no respect for either God, the country, or those who died to protect and save her!
Constitutional Crisis–A constitutional crisis is a situation that the legal system’s constitution or other basic principles of operation appear unable to resolve; it often results in a breakdown in the orderly operation of government. Often, generally speaking, a constitutional crisis is a situation in which separate factions within a government disagree about the extent to which each of these factions hold sovereignty. Most commonly, constitutional crises involve some degree of conflict between different branches of government (e.g., executive, legislature, and/or judiciary), or between different levels of government in a federal system (e.g., state and federal governments).
A constitutional crisis may occur because one or more parties to the dispute willfully chooses to violate a provision of a constitution or an unwritten constitutional convention, or it may occur when the disputants disagree over the interpretation of such a provision or convention. If the dispute arises because some aspect of the constitution is ambiguous or unclear, the ultimate resolution of the crisis often establishes a precedent for the future. For instance, the United States constitution is silent on the question of whether states are allowed to secede from the Union; however, after the secession of several states was forcibly prevented in the American Civil War, it has become generally accepted that states cannot leave the Union. A constitutional crisis is distinct from a rebellion, which is defined as when factions outside of a government challenge that government’s sovereignty, as in a coup or revolution led by the military or civilian protesters. A constitutional crisis can lead to government paralysis, collapse, or civil war. https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Constitutional_crisis
If you go by the way the dictionary defines a Constitution Crisis, it would appear that we are already in one, or facing the potential of suffering a major Crisis, that could lead to the destruction of the United States itself.
I have a question that has been bothering me for sometime, that is “What would happen if we have a sitting President that suspended elections, or refused to step down if he lost an election?”
Barack Obama has shown us that he does not believe that he has to obey laws that he does not agree with. If he lost the election, and refused to step down, who would remove him from office? Eric Holder? He was appointed by Barack Obama and has shown the same disdain for the law that Mr. Obama has. I don’t think that we could count on him, do you?
What about Congress? We know that Republicans would, but what about the Democrats? Would they choose to go by the Constitution? Or would they decide that this was a way for them to continue to put into place the policies that they think are best for this country? And even if all of them agreed, how would they go about it? Would there be a way for them to take charge of the Military? Who would the Military answer to? Would they even attempt to remove a man from office who was their Commander In Chief? Would they operate inside the United States border in violation of the Constitution themselves?
What about the Secret Service? Would they choose the President that is their current responsibility or would they consider that they were obligated to enforce the Constitution?
Then you have the FBI! Barack Obama is asking Congress to extend the director, Mr. Mueller’s term, for an additional two years. That is quite a request, would that put him beholden to Barack Obama. Not that I am implying that he would consider himself to be beholden, but don’t we have to consider that?
What about Homeland Security? The head of Homeland Security is Janet Napolitano, under her we have seen Homeland Security erode our Constitutional rights, and she seems to believe that Government should be able to stop anyone and search them or their possessions without a warrant. They are beginning to do so on American streets even now. Plus they are setting up checkpoints at train stations and bus stations. Why? Is this to secure the safety of the American people or to control our means of transportation? Do we truly believe that Janet Napolitano would try a remove a President that appointed her and that she obviously agrees with on every issue. She is also in charge of FEMA and the possibilites of using it against the citizens of the country are massive. If someone were to attempt to remove Barack Obama from office, it would take only moments to declare a national emergency. And we now have a way for them to get their message out, whether news outlets decided to air them or not. They will simply send the message directly over your cell phone.
Radar Magazine reports that: Under law, during a national emergency, FEMA and its parent organization, the Department of Homeland Security, would be empowered to seize private and public property, all forms of transport, and all food supplies. The agency could dispatch military commanders to run state and local governments, and it could order the arrest of citizens without a warrant, holding them without trial for as long as the acting government deems necessary. From the comfortable perspective of peaceful times, such behavior by the government may seem farfetched. But it was not so very long ago that FDR ordered 120,000 Japanese-Americans—everyone from infants to the elderly—be held in detention camps for the duration of World War II.
So where would that leave us? Would we have a complete breakdown of the rule of law? Would FEMA decide that they have the authority to start to imprison people that wanted to remove the President from office? Who side would the rest of the World come down on? Would the UN decide that they would get involved and settle our disputes like they are doing in other countries at this moment?
This may seem to you to be crazy talk, but I have to ask “If you have someone who has already shown that they do not feel that the law applies to them, what makes you think that they will feel that they have to obey it?” Barack Obama has already proven to us that he thinks that he is above the law, do you truly believe that if he wants to retain power, that he would stop when he has the ability to seize even further power?
The next question has to be what would we be able to do to stop him?
White House bans cameras at daily news briefing
ncreasingly the White House is distancing itself from news reporters, withholding vital information from the press and the public, and essentially dictating to the media when and where they are allowed to video or take pictures of the President.
