Thanksgiving With God’s Word

2 Corinthians 9:11-12

You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.  This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

1 Timothy 4:4-5

For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,  because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

1 Chronicles 16:34

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Psalm 7:17

I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Psalm 100:4

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

In Memory

This is mostly a repost from a couple of years ago but I have added some new videos. Every year when we honor our dead, we need the reminders of why they died and what they sacrificed. But we also need to remember the living and left behind and honor the gift that we were given. Our freedom was bought, first and foremost by Jesus and that can never be taken from us. But what our men and women have sacrificed for on the battlefield can and is. We need to be watchmen to remind others of them and show our children what they gave as well. God bless all the men and women who have sacrificed and let us never forget.

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

Every year on Memorial Day we honor our fallen soldiers that gave their life that we might be free! Today more than ever we need reminded that freedom isn’t free. With each day our liberties are being eaten away by a voracious government that seems determined to decide for us every minute detail of our lives.

This country’s Constitution states that our rights are given to us by God, and the Bible tells us that what He gives, no man can take away. They may kill our bodies, but our souls belong to the Creator. We can choose to keep those rights that our men and women died for, or we can give them up. So if we should lose those rights, it is only because we weren’t willing to die for them.

This post is for the men and women who have already proven to God and the world that they are willing to die to keep those rights. If we do nothing else in the next few hours, let us show that honor proudly and let us not be cowed by those in power who have little or no respect for either God, the country, or those who died to protect and save her!

Christmas Interlude

I will be taking a break until after Christmas but may post occasionally. Will try to read some of your blogs but surely hope that you all have a blessed Christmas!

Salute to Our Veterans — God bless you All

Veterans sacrifice so that those of us who remain behind, may retain our freedom. Too often they are ignored or demeaned when they should be saluted and honored. Veterans Day is set aside by a one time grateful nation to do just that, honor and salute those who have served and sacrificed. While I am no longer sure that this nation is grateful for the sacrifice given, I know that I am. This post is a reminder to honor those who have served and are serving. If you love our Vets please take a moment to pray for them and pray for peace. Perhaps one day soon, it will no longer be needed for some to sacrifice for others.

Veteran’s Day Prayer

Dear Lord,
Today we honor our veterans,
worthy men and women
who gave their best
when they were called upon
to serve and protect their country.
We pray that you will bless them, Lord,
for their unselfish service
in the continual struggle
to preserve our freedoms, our safety,
and our country’s heritage, for all of us.
Bless them abundantly
for the hardships they faced,
for the sacrifices they made
for their many different contributions
to America’s victories
over tyranny and oppression.
We respect them, we thank them,
we honor them, we are proud of them,
and we pray that you will watch over
these special people
and bless them with peace and happiness.
In Jesus’ name we pray; Amen.

Blessings from God

Most of us go through our daily lives without much thought to those around us who are struggling. We remember them in our prayers and we help when we can, but how close do we really get? I have been blessed today by way of granbee to find someone who has a story that illustrates how God works and how He can change us in astonishing ways. Please read this story from Zendictive called “The empty easter egg.”

Also please stop by granbee‘s place to read her wonderful posts as well!

Get Over It – 9/11 is Now NATIONAL GRANDPARENTS DAY – So DECREES Obama(via The Last Refuge)

From the man that is doing everything he can to erase our history and destroy this country comes another outrage.  As a grandparent, I find this insulting to say the least, but as an American I find it truly disturbing that the President of the United States would stoop so low to change the memories of people. It is obvious that he does not appreciate the feelings that most of this country share, but it is also obvious that he could care less! Read the story from The Last Refuge!

Get Over It – 9/11 is Now NATIONAL GRANDPARENTS DAY – So DECREES Obama

(h/t iOTW) No, I’m not kidding. I’m sure grandparents from Burbank to Myrtle Beach are proud to be commemorated on the most horrible day in U.S. history.  Obama is a detached maniac, that much he has made clear. Read the full story at The Last Refuge:

Once There Was A boy (via ChristianBlessings)

Once There Was A boy Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it with anxiety or the handle of faith. Henry Ward Beecher                Once there was a boy who always looked on the bright side and always expected the best. He expected to like Brussels sprouts before he had  ever tasted them, for instance, and to like his teacher on the first day of school. Because he ha … Read More
