There is a lot of discussion about State’s Rights and whether so many of the policies and regulations that are being proposed on the Federal Scale are in violation of the States Rights. Personally I think that many of them are, but one of the worst cases is the Federal Involvement in our schools. I think that a large portion of our educators, legislators, and laypeople are unaware that legally the federal government has no right to force any standards upon the schools. They may suggest, offer money for the policies that they want implemented, but they have no legal authority to force states to follow these standards.
How much influence do we want a federal government to have? When do we stop letting them force by bullying and threatening the schools in order to get policies in place that go totally against our moral values and common sense? We have in power an administration that uses bullying, threats, and even suing states in order to force their will upon the people of this country. How far do they go before it becomes treasonous? When you are in the process of destroying the very thing that you took an oath to protect, when does it become a violation? I am not saying that this leadership should be tried for treason, I am saying when are the people of this country and leaders in the separate states going to wake up and realize that what is being done to them is in violation of the Constitution and that they do have other options that to just answer the lawsuits in court and depend upon a Federal Court that may be just a guilty of violating their own oath of office.
Our founders intent was for the States to trump the Federal, for the Federal to be an arm of the State to promote the welfare of the States and the people. We have let it be turned around where the States are an aterthought and only seem to enjoy rights granted to them by the Federal Government and those are constantly being ignored or whittled away if they don’t fit the desires of whomever is in power at the time.

“Each year on JANUARY 16, we celebrate Religious Freedom Day in commemoration of the passage of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom,” wrote President George W. Bush in his 2003 Proclamation. Jefferson‘s Statute for Religious Freedom, which he commemorated on his tombstone, was passed in 1786 by the Virginia Assembly. In his draft, Jefferson wrote: “Almighty God hath created the mind free, and…all attempts to influence it by temporal punishments…tend only to begat habits of hypocrisy and meanness, and are a departure from the plan of the Holy Author of religion, who being Lord both of body and mind, yet chose not to propagate it by coercions on either, as was in his Almighty power to do, but to extend it by its influence on reason alone.” In his Second Inaugural Address, 1805, Jefferson wrote: “In matters of religion I have considered that its free exercise is placed by the Constitution independent of the powers of the General Government.” In 1808, Jefferson wrote to Samuel Miller: “I consider the government of the United States as prohibited by the Constitution from intermeddling with religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises…Every religious society has a right to determine for itself the times for these exercises, and the objects proper for them, according to their own particular tenets.”

Our relationship with the State’s created agent, the Federal Government, is much like a marriage gone sour asWalter E. Williams points out. What was once a beneficial relationship has turned to one of spousal abuse, a nightly beat-down by the one in a wife-beater. As domestic victims, we have a choice: quietly leave, endure, or take drastic and violent measures.
President Lincoln tyrannically shut down the option of States outright divorcing the Federal Government. So what about a peaceful separation? If a spouse can’t live in the same house without receiving abuse and scars, why not live apart? Separate beds, separate houses, but the same last name. Recently, Congress suspended Habeas Corpus and undermined the entire Bill of Rights - on the exact 220th anniversary of the adoption of the same Rights! Time would fail me to describe the myriad ways the Federal Government has overstepped its bounds and violated the 9th and 10th Amendments. In 1787 a convention in Philadelphia drafted what is usually recognized as the most extraordinary political document of history. The Constitution of the United States created a federal system with checks and balances on power. The world had never seen anything like it.
Despite its benefits, there was doubt it would be ratified by the individual states. Having recently escaped one tyranny, the people of the United States did not want to subject themselves to another. They feared the new constitution because, while it specified the rights of the new government, and gave such rights as the writ of habeas corpus, it did not list other rights that the people felt it should. These could be inferred, but the majority of Americans felt safer having them spelled out.
For the most part, those who were for the federal system were for the constitution as it stood. Those who opposed a federal system, wanted more guarantees of rights. Several state conventions asked for such a bill. Thomas Jefferson urged that they be given their wish. A “bill of rights is what the people are entitled to against every government on earth, general or particular, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference.” The U. S. Congress agreed and by a two thirds majority passed ten amendments to the constitution, called the Bill of Rights.
On this day, December 15, 1791, the Bill of Rights was ratified. It is significant to church history because of its first Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..” This amendment was the result of long centuries of efforts by religious groups such as the Quakers and Baptists to obtain religious liberty.
The first amendment meant that the Federal government of the United States could not establish a national church, such as was common in many other nations. Anyone could worship as he or she pleased and the Federal government could not say “boo” except under special circumstances.

Agenda 21′s anchor baby is “Sustainable Development”. Sustainable Development is to “harmonize” U.S. environmental policy with U.N. directives as outlined in “Agenda 21″, compliments of Geo. H. W. Bush. Arkansas’ local Agenda 21 planning guide was published by ICLEI. As you may recall, No. Little Rock Mayor Patrick Henry Hayes has been the national president of ICLEI. (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives…already in 70 different countries)
What is “Sustainable Development”? Sustainablists state that every societal decision be based on environmental impact, focusing on 3 components: Global land use, global education, and global population control and reduction. As Hillary Clinton succinctly stated
“the age of individualism is over”.
There has been and is a concerted effort to hide Agenda 21′s roots from the people. It is said there is a segment of society who fear one-world government giving rise to the stripping of individual freedom and those U.S. citizenswould actively work to defeat any elected official who has joined any one of Agenda 21′s bastard babies. It is noteworthy to mention that a number of Arkansas elected officials are squarely in bed and embracing the insidious Agenda 21 which restricts movement, does away with property rights and wholeheartedly embraces the concept of “stack ‘em & pack ‘em”-self-contained mass compaction.
From my vantage point it appears that the Arkansas state legislature has a number of traitorous Republicans, but am sure not limited to, who are fanning the flames of the U.N. Agenda 21 and moving rapidly into herding citizens into high impact urban areas. Again, the reason is for government to lay claim to more & more real estate. As it stands now the U.S. federal government lays claim to 2/3rd of U.S. land mass. As I write this the U.S. Forestry Service is locking down mountainous national parks in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. The U.S. due to a lack of citizen knowledge of Sustainable Development and the corruption of its many elected officials is marching to the European drummer.
Government is corrupt, in many instances criminally corrupt, and is operating far outside the box of Constitutionality and it can only be concluded that government has become the enemy of the people. Daily they are quashing our Constitutional rights which are our natural human rights.
A few of Agenda 21′s bastard babies by name, in addition to Sustainable Development, are Smart Growth, Quality of Place, MPO’s (Metropolitan Planning Organizations), ICLEI, Metro 1313, Providence Communities, New Market Tax Credits, New Urbanism, etc. Fort Smith is already blessed and participating in any numbers of bastard babies…look no further than the Chaffee Crossing development. MPO’s and their companions are non-elected but hold ultimate power.
Statewide, some of the facilitators of Sustainable Development are the Ark. Dept. of Rural Services, the Ark. Forestry Commission, the Ark. Association of Resource Conservation & Development, the Ark. Economic Development Commission (this is the granddaddy of all of them), Ark. Dept. of Emergency Services, Ark. Parks & Tourism, USDA (U.S. Dept. of Agriculture), etc.
Some of the hooks used by the traitorous enablers are grants, loans, public/private partnerships (for people who know-Fascism, where the government is always the CEO).
To quote a fellow by the name of Van Thomas, Director of White River Planning & Development, recently stated “Our goal in life is to help you folks get their (the agency’s) money”. Mr. Thomas, I would suggest it is not the Agency’s money, it is MY money, and carrying that thought further, the federal government is bankrupt and for you to be out beating the drums for more debt (& others like you) is unconscionable, but this is the mentality of a parasitic buffoon who has never created or sustained a job. White River Development blatantly states they are a comrade in arms by embracing Sustainable Development.
The bottom line is WHO pays & HOW? You know, it’s the producers, i.e. the Makers and the political parasites ingovernments & bureaucracies are the Takers.
Simply stated, if elected representatives of state government, particularly those individuals in N.W. & North Arkansas continue their traitorous involvement in attacking property rights and/or restricting the freedom of physical movements of citizens, by utilizing any of the bastard babies of Agenda 21, they certainly will be brought to public attention by name and activities.
If elected officials and hired bureaucrats continue to bankroll communities (really the developers) with money printed out of thin air through grants, loans, etc. being purveyors of Agenda 21 they will certainly be isolated and removed from office/position. None of this is a proper function of Constitutional government.

This is an idea that we should address.
For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform… in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn’t seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

I’ve been listening to the TV and radio for the past week trying to get a handle on the whole ‘Debt Ceiling Deal’ thing. After five days of almost constant-exposure to the ‘Smartest People’ in the room pontificating about the deal, I have still MORE questions than I did yesterday. Some go back to BEFORE the deal, some DURING the deal, and a few AFTER the deal.
Not wanting to over-burden my already-pounding head, let me ask my questions in no particular order – if you have answers to any of the following, please chime in, if these you leave you scratching your head too, well, I’m sorry…
Question 1: Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told us that August 2nd was the ‘Absolute Drop-Dead-Default-Date’ to getting a deal together to avoid a technical DEFAULT of the Federal Government. The original first-ever ‘Absolute-Drop-Dead-Default-Date’ was May 16th, as outlined in my original post: Raising the Roof, Or ‘Lowering the Floor’?
Luckily for us, the Obama Administration (working diligently with the Treasury, SEIU, and Martha Stewart‘s Tax Advisor), FOUND ‘$136 BILLION’ between the White House couch cushions resulting in the date being pushed back to early August.
So I guess what I’m really wondering is this: Was August 2nd a REAL date, or merely a Marketing Ploy to scare the Bejesus out of old people, the sick, the handicapped, and the un-informed? I’m thinking that it was a scam, but hey, what do I know? Do you ever wonder if there is any situation where Democrats don’t believe that if you keep throwing money at it, that eventually it will get better. You would think that as long as they have been doing it, that they would have figured out by now that it hasn’t worked in the past and it won’t work in the future.
It’s like the man who had cancer and kept spending money on his Doctor and then wondered why he hadn’t been cured. He said to the Doctor “I’ve given you all the money I have, and you still haven’t cured me!! The Doctor replied “If you want cured, you are looking in the wrong place, I can’t cure people from cancer, I can only treat the symptoms.”
That is what we are doing with education, just treating the symptoms. All the money in the world won’t solve the problems. It might add a few jobs in the short term, but that just adds to the problem. It is not that children can not learn. It’s that we don’t expect it of them. And if you don’t start off with a good foundation in the beginning of their lives and education, it is very difficult to establish that foundation later in life.
We have introduced materials into the school structure that are the opposite of what children need in order to learn to learn. Most children have the desire to learn, they ask questions all the time, but insome schools today, that desire is shoved down, in order to maintain whatever goal that the Federal Government desires from those children. They are not encouraged to question, and to challenge. Often they are told to simply sit down, and shut up. Some teachers care less about teaching and more about just having the children maintain a peaceful classroom. Other teachers have an agenda, that they desire to impose in the classroom, that is sometimes political, and often against the wishes of the parents of the child. We find that many people in the schools, have the idea that they are the ones who are supposed to decide the future of the children that they have in their class, instead of being the public servant that they are hired to be.
We have people like some of the Unions in Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio and New York, who seem to feel that their job is to teach children to agitate and protest. If that is what they think that children should be doing, it is no wonder that schools are failing to prepare children for the future. What good paying job wants an agitator in their system? It is hard to get something useful produced if your people are more interested in stirring the pot instead of making the pot.
If decisions were made on the local level, and money came from the community to teach and train children, the needs of the community would be met and the children would grow up prepared for the future. Industry would be attracted to an area where the people have a stake in making sure that their children are prepared.
Not everyone wants to attend a college or university. There are plenty of technical schools around. And if a business were to invest in a technical school in a area where they want to do business, the way that they used to do, instead of automatically saying that they need to import workers, or export jobs, it would be beneficial to everyone.
Money does not answer all the problems of the world. You have to be able to look at problems logically and realize that when it hasn’t worked before, it is time to try something new. Or perhaps go back to something old that has worked in the past.
Mr. Obama is to be admired for his desire to improve the education system, but he would be admired a lot more if he showed his seriousness by trying something that has worked in the past and not just keep throwing money at a problem.
Perhaps the best solution would be to just shelve the Department Of Education. The money that has been used to fund it could then be sent back to the States. In the years since the Department of Education was established, has it really done anything to improve the education of children?
Unfortunately, the reality is too many students are not prepared across our country. Too many leave school without the skills they need to get a job that pays. Today, as many as a quarter of American students are not finishing high school — a quarter. The quality of our math and science education lags behind many other nations. And America has fallen to ninth in the proportion of young people with a college degree. We used to be number one, and we’re now number nine. That’s not acceptable.
The most effective way to create jobs in this country is to change those statistics. There’s no better economic policy than one that produces more graduates with the skills they need to succeed — to start their own businesses, to create their own Microsoft, to create new industries. And that’s why reforming education is the responsibility of every single American -– every parent, every teacher, every business leader, every public official, and yes, every student.
Now, it used to be that we weren’t sure how to turn around failing schools. We weren’t sure what worked to help struggling students. There were some folks in Washington who said all it took was more money, and if we just poured more money into the school everything would better. Then there were others who said, no, you just got to blow up these schools, they can’t work. A lot of people thought we should just give up on places like Dorchester, and they assume that some kids just can’t learn, or they’ve got too many disadvantages. There are always some excuses for why our young people couldn’t succeed.
But after awhile, parents and teachers and education reformers started to realize that maybe Washington didn’t have all the answers. And I can promise you after being there for a few years, they’re on to something there. (Laughter.) People started realizing that what’s needed is not either/or, it’s not either more money or more reform, it’s both/and — both more money and more reform. That’s what’s needed. (Applause.)

When did the people of America give up their right to decide what is taught to their children? There was a time in this country when the decisions were made on the local level. When did we decide that what was good for the students in New York City, was also good for Artesia, New Mexico? They don’t have the same opportunities for employment. Why would they need the same goals for education? It is not necessary that everyone attend a University. Many jobs do not require it and it is a tremendous cost for the family and the individual.
So when did we give the Federal Government the right to make the decisions for the local community. Doesn’t the local school board know more about the needs of the community than the Federal Government. Perhaps if we choose not to accept money with strings attached, we would be better off. Strings always wind up costing even more money and the cost to the community is continually rising. If we ever want the be the powerful country that we used to be, we need to cut the strings that tie us to the Federal Government and start looking at what is best for ourselves and for our community.
There was a time when we were one of the best educated countries in the world. Now we are falling far short of many other countries. We must change the way our children are educated if we really want this country to return to the position that we once held.
The education our children are receiving now, often has very little to do with education and often is more indoctrination into a way of thought and belief that we do not agree with.What is the good of a child learning to protest and agitate? If we wanted our children to be protesters, we could teach them that ourselves.
What we need are teachers that teach Math, History, how to spell and how to read. We want our children to learn Science and the Arts. We do not want them to learn hatred. Some schools are introducing regimen into the classroom that do teach hate. In some it is the hatred of police, in others the hatred of Christians or Jews. This is not education!!! This is indroctrination!!
This is an agenda that does not lift the children up and make them better. This is an agenda that teaches them to be bullies, to hate those that are not like them, it teaches them that their only value is to be someone who is a slave to society. This is not education!!! This is programming!!! Is it time that we brought education back to the local level and tell the Federal Government that it is time for them to take a hike? Are we willing to let our children fail, because we are failing them? Shall we just settle for the least, when we could be the best?
