American Minute with Bill Federer
FEB. 17 – Billy Sunday: Baseball Star Preacher

He was born during the Civil War in a log cabin in Iowa.
His father, a Union Army soldier, died of pneumonia when Billy was a month old.
At age 15, he struck out on his own, working several jobs before playing baseball.
His career took off when he was recruited by A.G. Spalding, owner of the White Stockings and founder of Spalding Sporting Goods Company.

Sunday became one of the most popular athletes in the nation.
While leaving a Chicago saloon with some other players in 1886, he heard a group of gospel singers on the street from the Pacific Garden Mission.
Attracted by the hymns he had heard his mother sing, Sunday began attending services at the mission, where he experienced a conversion.

He began attending YMCA meetings, quit drinking and got married.
A national sensation occurred FEBRUARY 17, 1889, when Billy Sunday preached his first sermon as a Christian evangelist in Chicago.

He went on to pioneer preaching over broadcast radio so enthusiastically that the FCC was formed in response.
During the next 46 years, till his death November 6, 1935, over 100 million people would hear him.

In his animated style, Billy Sunday said:
“The devil says I’m out, but the Lord says I’m safe.”
“Temptation is the devil looking through the keyhole. Yielding is opening the door and inviting him in.”

“Live so that when the final summons comes you will leave something more behind you than an epitaph on a tombstone.”
“I never see a man or a woman or boy or girl but I do not think that God has a plan for them…He will use each of us to His glory if we will only let Him.”
“Rivers of America will run with blood filled to their banks before we will submit to them taking the Bible out of our schools.”
“Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you an automobile.”

If anyone is interested in taking this trip with Pastor Mauldin, contact me and I will email him your information and let him get in touch with you! God bless you!
We are going back to India Feb 18, and as I sent by email last week, on the return, we are going to return to
Turkey and to the Seven Churches and
Tarsus, Antioch and Haran…. So many sites to learn and grow in the Word!!!
Many have written that they are interested, but just now is the pricing available and we can have 10-19 people at these prices. If we go over 30 people, it drops in price $100.
These are aproximate prices, but are an attempt to get a low price where Melody and I pay the same low price you do….
Attached is an itinerary to meet Melody and I in
Istanbul on March 13 and fly to SE Turkey to see Tarsus, Antioch and Harran–where Jacob lived 20 years with Laban and herded goats and got his wives!!
We would come back to Istanbul and proceed to drive to Troy–Trojan Horse–and on to Troas (where Eutychus fell from window as Paul preached, Assos, and on to Seven Churches!!
There is so much to see and learn!!
The total price of $2550 is from
Chicago on Turkish Air–Which when combining International and
Domestic Turkey flights are given a much cheaper flight price. You can arrange own flights, but Domestic flights lose the bargain package price… As you see, the $2550 is for double occupancy and a $390 addition is for single occupant.
The only additional is getting to Chicago,
Los Angelos, or Washington for connecting to Turkish flights.
This is aproximate tour estimate till it is booked…sometimes changes occur…
At the bottom of Tour attachment, The flights are included in the $2550 price, but additional is the Turkish Visa of $20, and tips to tour guide. (Turkish Govt requires Turkish guide) (We will have guide, but I will share and together we will learn and make the Word prayerfully come alive and have teaching materials in your hands from the years of walking this path in Turkey!!)
For this price on tour and cheaper air, it is with 10 person group tour.
We are prayerful that God will bring an awesome team together–as He always does–and we will make incredible memories together!!
Note from GTI Tours:
The estimated $2550.00 per person is using
Turkish Airlines from Chicago and does not include U.S. domestic connecting flights from any other cities. Turkish Airlines air fare is based on currently fares subject to availability. Guide/driver tips, lunches and Turkish visas have not been included.
Let me know if you want us to proceed with securing air and ground!!
Turkish Air 006 12MAR Chicago – Istanbul 11:00P 4:45P +1
Turkish Air 2472 13MAR Istanbul – Adana 6:55P 8:25P

We just have to get to Chicago and back home in addition to the cost. If you need help, We will connect to GTI Tours who schedule much for Focus On The Family and specialize in Christian Tours!!
If you feel led to go, get in touch soon.
We love and appreciate you and are so thankful for friends that love the Lord, pray and have an urgency for His soon return!!!

Amusing Bunni is a dear friend, a blogger, and the maker of the most adorable kitty videos ever. She used do a lot of Conservative blogging (from Chicago!) but a while back the death threats she received (from sickos who didn’t even TRY to hide their IP addresses!) got to be too much so she backed off from the politics and just did adorable videos mostly, while coming to other Conservative blogs and making them better for her having stopped by there in our comments sections. I knew something was going on with her when I saw this:
Sometimes, you get news in life that is so awful, so horrible, and
the worst is when you can do NOTHING about it to change it….. continue reading at MareZilla.com

I have a few questions for people that promote abortions and make the claim that if pro-life people have their way that women will die in back alley abortions. How do you reconcile the fact that women die now in supposedly nice clinics with Dr. available to take care of them? How many of these clinics are even inspected? Abortion proponents don’t even want their premises inspected and when some government agency finally gets around to doing the job of protecting women, the conditions that they find are often so horrific that even if they are pro choice, they are disgusted and sickened by the conditions that they find. If they were truly interested in the lives of the women, perhaps they would truly consider the health of the women that go to these places instead of turning a blind eye. They truly seem more interested in killing the babies than they are life in any form. Please read the article from Life News.com:
When Planned Parenthood Kills Women Too: A Two for One Deal?
Opinion
Planned Parenthood is in the killing business. They perform approximately 324,000 abortions per year, using various methods on women at various stages of pregnancy.
For example, during a first trimester abortion, they usually suction out the child, or pieces of the child, through a tube inserted into the uterus. But during a second-trimester abortion, where the child has become too large to be killed and then sucked through a tube, Planned Parenthood performs a cervical dilation that allows them to get sharp instruments into the intended safety of the womb and kill the child so that it can then be “evacuated.”
It’s an ugly, immoral job, but by using phrases like “termination of pregnancy,” “pro-choice,” and “women’s health,” Planned Parenthood has been able to maintain both a quasi-respectable public image and their killing fields—all at the same time.
But for many, that all changed in July when 24-year old Tonya Reaves bled to death after an employee at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Chicago aborted Tonya’s baby in the second trimester. Read the rest of the story at Life News.com!

By now you’ve probably heard about the Obama campaign’s self-righteous indignation over an ad put out by the Romney camp taking Obama’s words out of context. What his campaign people failed to mention is that the quote in question was Obama quoting an anonymous supporter of John McCain during the 2008 election. So, it was okay for Obama to take the words of an unnamed person and attribute them to John McCain, but it’s not okay for Romney to use those words against Obama today.
Michael Gerson says to get used to the double standard.
Obama’s short, rocket-fueled political career has involved a tension. He has gained a reputation for hope and change while practicing a brass-knuckle style of politics. The University of Chicago professor is also a Chicago politician — as both Hillary Clinton and McCain discovered. More than half of the ads run by Obama’s general-election campaign were negative. McCain was attacked for being “erratic in a crisis” — a thinly veiled reference to his temperament. As president, Obama has asserted that Republicans want the elderly, autistic children and children with Down syndrome to “fend for themselves,” and that the GOP plan is “dirtier air, dirtier water, less people with health insurance.” In what context would these claims be true? Excellent Article from the American Thinker that we can only hope that it is so. I would like to see it come true anyway. Please take time to read the whole article and tell me what you think!Bonny Prince Barry
Bonny Prince Barry?
By James V Capua
Is our current “Young Pretender” preparing to fly the coop even before his Culloden in 2012?
Until the advent of Barack Obama, Charles Edward Stuart (1720-1788), called The Young Pretender, was a prime contender for the title of greatest narcissistic waster of other people’s time and trouble in history. The Stuarts‘ hopeless quest to reclaim the throne of England brought little beyond misery to the Scots, many of whom subsequently turned their backs on the Highlands to wrest a better life out of the American wilderness.
The restoration of the Stuarts was, by the middle of the eighteenth century, a romantic dream, not
unlike our own Hope and Change. Certainly, like Hope and Change, it served the needs of some powerful interests to foster the Stuart cause, but in the end the Jacobite dream dashed itself headlong into reality and fell to pieces, leaving the poorest of its adherents, who “trusted” in their Prince from Across the Water, to pay a terrible price. Charlie, who had grown up in Rome as a pampered aristocrat, with about as much connection to those he sent to ruin and misery as our own vacationer-in-chief, whined and complained his way through The Forty-Five, as the Jacobite Rebellion was called, but at least stuck it out until the final disaster at Culloden before fleeing. One begins to wonder whether Barack Obama will be so resolute.
In Chicago, where they know him best, there are doubts that he will:
Increasingly, people here in Chicago believe Barack Obama will screw over the Democrat Party in the 2012 election and unceremoniously decide he won’t seek re-election if he accepts the fact he will not win the race… Obama reminds me of the husband of one of my friends who just skipped out in the middle of the night, out of the blue, when he realized he hated being married, wasn’t man enough to handle fatherhood, and wasn’t capable of doing the hundred unpleasant and difficult things every day required to head a family. He left a wife and three kids behind, with little income and no idea how to keep things together, and headed off for warmer climates and better chances for adventure. This is exactly what Obama is going to do to the Democrat Party – and America – next year, when he declines re-election and instead focuses on building his Frank Gehry-designed “Obama Presidential Library and Museum to His Own Self-Proclaimed Greatness” on the tiki-tacky shores of Hawaii[.]
Recently, Peggy Noonan suggested the same possibility about a “wilting” Obama, asking, “Is his visit to Martha’s Vineyard a sign that he’s giving up?” Obama loyalists like Charles Blow of The New York Times are showing about the same level of doubt and disappointment in our young prince as the Jacobite generals:
… But one person I never thought would fall into this valley was Barack Obama, the charismatic candidate who electrified the electorate in 2008 and whom many saw as the fulfillment of the dream of the even-more-electrifying Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Yet here Obama is, down in the valley, struggling to connect with the American people and failing, increasingly coming across as dispassionate to some and outright revolting to other…Of course, Republicans haven’t helped. They’re absolutely committed to, and obsessed with, his failure. But that cannot be the excuse. Great leadership isn’t shaped in the absence of opposition but in the presence of it. Great leaders draw us together by our universal humanity; they galvanize the wills of the willing; they draw clarity from the spigot of chaos. … The country needs the president to rise to this crisis in word, spirit and deed. We need him to reach out of his nature and into the nation’s need[.]
Barry, like Charlie, thought it was going to be easy — just show the standard and the simple folk would flock to it; smile and they would swoon. Now there are daunting challenges everywhere, and nothing in his pampered and undemanding life prepared him to meet them, nor even really understand those he must direct in doing so. And the challenges, or as Bonnie Prince Barry called it, the “run of bad luck,” are likely to continue into 2012.
In addition to our domestic miseries, we could see foreign “bad luck.” Pakistan’s stability is tenuous and an Islamist revolt is not out of the question there. Some fear that China may provoke a confrontation at sea; neither Afghanistan nor Iraq are trending well. ”Change” in Egypt and Libya is likely to produce a mess for the US. Of course Iran and North Korea can’t be left off any list of possible troublemakers. No, neither 2012 nor beyond will make the golf and parties any better to voters.
One single event could precipitate Barry boarding that bonnie boat for Skye next year, and that is the Supreme Court striking down ObamaCare. While it may be true that “[a]ll anybody cares about right now are jobs and economic growth and they don’t want to be reminded about health care,” Obama simply lacks the sand to weather that rebuff. After all, he did drag us along on this costly trip and all we got was that stinkin’ ObamaCare tee shirt. Read the rest at the American Thinker

It is now evident to all Americans that the decision to elect one Barrack H. Obama as our President has been a huge mistake. As a result, America now suffers one of the worst Recessions in recent history because a slim majority voted for the Hope and Deranged beliefs that was being preached by the “Anointed One” during the Campaign of 2008. From CBS-2 in Chicago, we learn [tip of the fedora to Memeorandum]: Union workers say someone turned on the heat lamps in blazing hot broad daylight Thursday, as they walked a picket line in front of the Park Hyatt Hotel. As WBBM Newsradio 780’s Mike Krauser reports, workers at Hyatt Hotels in nine cities are walking picket lines Thursday, trying to pressure the hotel into coming to an agreement on a new contract. This article from Citizen Wells is just amazing! This stuff should have been made available to the American people before the election of Barack Obama but was hidden by a complicit media and Democrat party that way willing to get what they wanted, no matter who it hurt. The people of this country were never considered, they decided what was best for us and they were going to shove it down our throats no matter what. This has been the pattern of both the media and the Democrat party since he started running for the Presidency! We see the gangster government and media threaten and intimidate, bribe and payoff. What are we becoming? A third world? Stop the madness!!!! Insist that Congress and the Courts do their job and investigate and prosecute the criminals that are destroying our country!

Well, well, could it be that Chicago is not quite as enamored of Obama’s pick for Mayor as he thought. I think this ruling really caught them be surprise. Wonder how the Illinois Supreme Court will rule.
