Teachx3 has requested prayer and says “MS is a part of my life and one that God has given me the strength to daily deal with… and now I am ‘at that age’ to where a woman has difficulties in ‘the change’” She asks “I also know we are to lean on and look for support from our fellow believers in Christ, His precious Church… so my brothers and sisters, please say a prayer for Gods Will to be done for me.”
So please do include her in your prayers and if you can visit her blog and cheer her up a little! Random Ramblins
A friend of ours here on the blogs, Right Hook, is asking for prayer for her sister “My sister has been fighting breast cancer for about a year. She responded so well to treatment, and they thought they got it all after surgery. The last couple of months, she’s been having a lot of hip and back pain. She got some new scans today, and was devastated to learn that it is now in her bones, and all through her body. It has become very aggressive, and it is literally eating away at her bones. They are so fragile, the doctors said they could just snap. Her condition is “guarded”, and they are starting radiation tomorrow. This is in God’s hands. I would so appreciate your prayers.”
Please take time to pray for her! This is devastating news for all of them, but we know that our God can work miracles.
Thank you all for your prayers, Todd is doing better and they are moving him to a private room. He is an epileptic, his high fever triggered the severe seizures. The diagnosis is influenza. God bless you all and prayer does work!!!!!
Please add my middle son, Todd, into your prayers. He became really sick yesterday, with a high fever and seizures. He has tested positive for the influenza virus, and has been hospitalized in the MSICU unit on a ventilator. They are doing a spinal tap this morning in order to see if he has meningitis and are going to try to take him off the ventilator today. Please include him in your prayers. He is mentally disabled and an epileptic but otherwise has been very healthy and this is the first time he has had seizures in many years, his temp. was 104.4 at the time of his admission. If you know anyone with the flu, please do not take it lightly. And thank you and God bless you all!
Sometimes you know that all you can do is call out to God, this is one of those times. Our blogging friend terry1954 has had some very bad news about her brother Al. Please take a few minutes to visit her site and say a prayer for them both. God bless you: http://terry1954.wordpress.com/2013/01/14/i-am-falling-and-cant-get-up/

We are searching for a reason that a young man walked into a school and killed 26 people, most of whom were children. As these are being buried and mourned, people search for something to cast blame upon and truly there is enough blame to go around, some would say it is guns, others, video games and violence on TV, and yet others blame mental illness and drugs. Truth be told there is something to all these. First guns, the gun didn’t kill the children and teachers, the person holding the gun and pulling the trigger killed them. The young man made a choice, if he truly wanted to kill, he would have found a way. And if there were no guns, perhaps he would have chosen something that would have taken even more lives such as a bomb or fire. When a person makes a choice for evil, evil finds the way. And yes I do believe that evil exists!
Now for those who blame video games and TV, there again, the object is not at fault however it does make people less sensitive to violence and death, sure this had a impact on this young man. We have reports that he was mentally ill, and reports that he was on drugs for this. Perhaps it is time for a serious discussion about the influence of video games and violence in the media, on the mentally ill. Perhaps we need to have a serious discussion about what causes mental illness and how we as a society deal with it. Perhaps we need to allow support for the parents of the mentally ill to be available in the schools, even if this support is of the Christian faith…
We can all find some way to assign blame, why not spend a little time praying for answers and getting together with our churches, after all we can all see how the level of violence has increased in our schools. I would dare say that if someone did a serious study, they would find that the changes made in the last fifty years in our schools, have had a negative effect on our children. I doubt that those in government would be willing to do this, but much as they would like to believe that they have the right to decide what is taught, they only have what we give them. Isn’t it time that we as parents and grandparents took a real look at how our schools are being run and what our children are being taught. Ultimately it does fall to us to care for our children and we are the one that the Lord will ask, “What have you done?”
Our leaders have no hesitation in turning to prayer after a tragedy but the real tragedy is that sometimes things can be prevented if we turn to prayer before it happens. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our leaders exhibited that same faith and turning to God before the next tragedy to befall our country? We have no promises of a pain and tragedy free life, but we do have promises that God will be our shelter and strong tower. Proverbs 18:10
The name of the LORD is a strongtower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Evil does exist, but it isn’t just on one level. We need to open our eyes and see it for what it is. We must take responsibility for our children. We must take our schools back and make sure that the teachers that we hire teach the values that we want our children to learn. God didn’t leave us, we left Him and it is time to go back. As the title says “Evil will fall to the Lord.”
The following is a repost!
Evil exists, no matter how much we would like to deny it or how much we would like to turn away from it. Sometimes it slips up and knocks you down and you have to admit it. That is the case of what just happened in Aurora, Colorado. The motives of the person are truly irrelevant. The end results of their beliefs or failure to believe in anything, has bearing only on the fact that it let evil in the door.
We long for peace and happiness. We long for security and stability. This is the reason that we have governments. But the truth is that no matter how strict the government, evil finds it’s own way. Whether it is the sanctioned abuse of women and children in countries in the Middle East, or the evil of drug use which alters our minds and makes it easier for evil to take root.
Sadly, there is no cure for evil except death. It exists as a part of life and the only way for it to die, is for us to die. I am not talking about a literal death, although in the end, that is necessary as well. But I am talking about the death of the person that we were and the rebirth of the new person that understands what love, faith, and surrendering to God, is!
Colossians 3:1-8
1 You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on his throne at the right side of God.2 Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth.3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.4 Your real life is Christ and when he appears, then you too will appear with him and share his glory!
The Old Life and the New
5 You must put to death, then, the earthly desires at work in you, such as sexual immorality, indecency, lust, evil passions, and greed (for greed is a form of idolatry).6 Because of such things God’s anger will come upon those who do not obey him.[a]7 At one time you yourselves used to live according to such desires, when your life was dominated by them.
8 But now you must get rid of all these things: anger, passion, and hateful feelings. No insults or obscene talk must ever come from your lips.9 Do not lie to one another, for you have put off the old self with its habits10 and have put on the new self. This is the new being which God, its Creator, is constantly renewing in his own image, in order to bring you to a full knowledge of himself.11 As a result, there is no longer any distinction between Gentiles and Jews, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarians, savages, slaves, and free, but Christ is all, Christ is in all.
The people killed and hurt in Aurora were victims of evil! Nothing that they did was their fault. Evil exists as a part of the reality that we have here on earth. We can do our best to prevent it, but it is going to find a way to erupt. The only hope that we have is in our creator who has promised us a better future. A future where evil will not be able to cause us the tears and suffering that we have now.
I pray that those who are suffering will find the peace and strength to deal with the problems that they are facing. I pray that they recognize that the evil they have faced if not of any fault of their own! I pray that those who are survivors do not live their lives in fear and that those who have lost loved ones will have the faith they need to live their own lives and not believe that all else is lost.
Save me from my enemies, my God;
protect me from those who attack me! 2 Save me from those evil people;
rescue me from those murderers!
3 Look! They are waiting to kill me;
cruel people are gathering against me.
It is not because of any sin or wrong I have done, 4 nor because of any fault of mine, O Lord,
that they hurry to their places.
5 Rise, Lord God Almighty, and come to my aid;
see for yourself, God of Israel!
Wake up and punish the heathen;
show no mercy to evil traitors!
6 They come back in the evening,
snarling like dogs as they go about the city. 7 Listen to their insults and threats.
Their tongues are like swords in their mouths,
yet they think that no one hears them.
8 But you laugh at them, Lord;
you mock all the heathen. 9 I have confidence in your strength;
you are my refuge, O God. 10 My God loves me and will come to me;
he will let me see my enemies defeated.
11 Do not kill them, O God, or my people may forget.
Scatter them by your strength and defeat them,
O Lord, our protector. 12Sin is on their lips; all their words are sinful;
may they be caught in their pride!
Because they curse and lie, 13 destroy them in your anger;
destroy them completely.
Then everyone will know that God rules in Israel,
that his rule extends over all the earth.
14 My enemies come back in the evening,
snarling like dogs as they go about the city, 15 like dogs roaming about for food
and growling if they do not find enough.
16 But I will sing about your strength;
every morning I will sing aloud of your constant love.
You have been a refuge for me,
a shelter in my time of trouble. 17 I will praise you, my defender.
My refuge is God,
the God who loves me.
Luke 24:49
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Acts 1:4
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
Acts 2:33
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Acts 2:39
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.
Acts 26:6
And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:
Romans 4:13
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
Romans 4:16
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Romans 9:8
That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
Amusing Bunni is a dear friend, a blogger, and the maker of the most adorable kitty videos ever. She used do a lot of Conservativeblogging (from Chicago!) but a while back the death threats she received (from sickos who didn’t even TRY to hide their IP addresses!) got to be too much so she backed off from the politics and just did adorable videos mostly, while coming to other Conservative blogs and making them better for her having stopped by there in our comments sections. I knew something was going on with her when I saw this:
Sometimes, you get news in life that is so awful, so horrible, and the worst is when you can do NOTHING about it to change it….. continue reading at MareZilla.com
I just got a call from Julie Norman. She and Ed are good friends in Phoenix. We have ministered together for years, doing Special Touch camps for those with disabilities, and elsewhere… Ed has been a quadraplegic for over 35 years because of an accident when he was 18.
Ed has been thru many tests of life and death especially the past 5 years, but in Sept we ministered together at Arizona Special Touch, his first time to minister in a long time.
Julie shared that Ed got an infection that has gone septic and progressed to where he is now in ICU with blood clots and many challenges….
She called and asked if I could get people to pray! SO PLEASE PRAY!!
Especially that Ed will know so clearly the PRESENCE OF THE LORD. He is not able to communicate, but is very restless….
“In His presence is fullness of joy” and His peace will settle deep inside Ed and he will not be anxious…
Thank you for praying! Many of you know Ed! He so loves the Lord and is such a wonderful Brother and so blessed at sharing God‘s Word!!
Melody and I are home 2 days now from India and Dubai, UAE. We are so thankful and so blessed to look back at God’s grace and the things that were accomplished in the villages, for Gods glory!!
Thank you all for praying and standing with us!! We go back to India, Lord willing, Around Feb. 15.
Many of you know Grumpy from Grumpy’s Opinions, and if you he has a wonderful news and opinion magazine blog which is well worth your time. It has many writers, some of whom you know here from the comments, such as MJ, Bob A., and many others. I sometime add in my own opinion.
But to get back to the prayer request. Grumpy has been having some health issues and spent weekend before last in the hospital. He seems to be having some serious problems with his heart. Torimom post on Grumpy’s Opinions this morning that he was suffering again. Grumpy is a wonderful man and a fellow follower of the Lord. Please include him in your prayers. There have been so many suffering this year.
And for all of you prayer warriors, an update, Zilla left me a note and said that she is back home and out of the hospital. She is not healed yet so we need to continue to pray for her, but she is at home. Prayer works my friends!!!!! God bless you all!!!
2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.
8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.
10 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
12 At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.
13 The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.
14 Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.
15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.
18 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.
19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
20 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
22 For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.
23 I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.
24 Therefore hath the Lord recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
25 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;
26 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.
27 For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.
28 For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
31 For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?
32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
33 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.
37 I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
38 I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.
39 For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
40 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
41 They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.
42 Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
43 Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.
44 As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.
45 The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.
46 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
47 It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.
48 He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
49 Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.
50 Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
Please pray for my friend MareZilla, as all of you who know her know, she has been ill for sometime, but is worse. The Lonely Conservative has posted the following update on her site. Please go there and read the story. I am including the video below. Please pass this information on and include her in your prayer lists. God bless you!
We left this AM fo5r 3 remote villages in the mountains, and on the way broke down with electrical problems in the jeep. Got an muslim electric man from Panyam village to help. As we were beside the road, a herd of camels came by, driven–herded by 3 young men. They were from Gujeratt State on herding thesecamels 7 months from town to town where they sacrifice a camel and sell the meat for muslim Bakridh holiday of camel feast. The diligence of these men and tradition that has to be met to accomplish eternal life…???
We got on the way and went to Sugalli (bracelet village). Pastor Bala Swami has pastored 4 years and face many persecutions and being beaten and driven out after people began to come to Christ. He has stayed and about 50 members plus many children are in the church. About 80-100 met on porch today and we share Christ.
8 took baptism in water and asKJonathon and Tammy gave baptisms, Melody and I visited hindu homes…
We met Sanjiamma “never dies”. She has a small shop and nice clean home. She shared that she went to a big town and while there, a chuirch offered her food. “This is a Christian thing, she thought, so she rejected the food. She later regretted and began to talk to this “God“. She shared this and shared she is now ready to accept this God. She prayed the prayer of salvation!! “I will share this with 10 more people” she exclaimed so excited!
Several women were gathered on her porch, and began to share.
Our village never prospered, but 10 years ago one man accepted this Jesus and now many are accepting. “But you can see our village is building and prospering…”PTL!!!
These were truly excited and they talked, sang, and shared!!
At Icheruvu Village “Leg”village–Pastor came 5 years ago and began in this place that polishes stones.
We share in a home where husband and wife both work together to polish these big stones –flooring. The quota is 80 stones per 8 hour day and if not met, they get no pay.
This is hard, backbreaking, tedious and potentially injurious work. Ranga Swami 39 and wife 32 both eagerly accept Christ.
The church has grown to 60 baptised believers with 10 taking today. Also, 10 are baptised with Holy Spirit!!
These villages are so thankful we came, welcoming and hospitable.
The last village–Rudravaram–we were not supposed to go. No pastor and no church except a 7th Day church that, “No one ever comes to open the door”–church built and all grown up in weeds…
“We worship other gods, but they don’t hear our prayers”. They all wanted Eternal Life and up to 75 gathered in the night on the street to listen as we sang and shared. “They did not run when Melody and I sang…”
Jonathon shared the bracelets and ALL in unity, quickly said they want thsi eternal ligfe!
In this village, a man dressed in costume that reminded of satan, was going around. No church and hungry people! One pastor with us agreed to come Sunday evenings and minister. There is so much to share and such hungry hearts. A incredibly strong potential church is birthed tonight!!! People all gathered around and such excitement and enthusiasm…
We gave 18 baptisms, gave two prayer sheds and many many accepted Christ even in village that we were not planned to be in…
Lord help us have the excitement and zeal in our hearts with hunger so apparent…
I sit now 932pm on outside, surrounded by mosquitos and sharing this update. Connection is such a challenge, but everything is truly a joy when you meet so so many that have not heard and truly have a hunger to hear…
With so much love, thanks, prayers and a thankful heart,
Kerry, Melody, Jonathon and Tammy (who both dis awesome job sharing salvation bracelets and baptisms today!!)
Therefore, just as through on man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—-
(For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.
But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
And the gift is not like that which come through the one who sinned. For the judgement which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses rusulted in justification.
For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
Therefore, as through one man’s offence judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through on Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,
so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life thorough Jesus Christ our Lord.
How amazing it is to know that no matter how great our sins, if we accept Jesus into our lives and proclaim him our Savior, that our sins will be washed away and we will appear before God washed clean. By His giving of His blood we have a future, where otherwise we would have been condemned. Not by anything we do other than having faith and be willing to ask for forgiveness and accept God’s grace.
And yet how sad that there are so many who still refuse to see, and are not willing to give up that control. And how sad it is that there are so many that, like Satan himself, wish to control those around them. Whether they do so in ignorance or willful disobedience, it does not matter. The end results are the same, and the loss in forever.
I pray for those that are in leadership positions, whether from the very top to the parent of a child. Please understand that one day you will stand in judgement before God. What you do will be judged by Him, but if you do not accept Him into your life and ask Him for forgiveness, He will not see you. No matter how good you think that you are, no matter how worthy your goals, if they do not include Him, they will be forever forgotten and you will face eternity damned for your lack of action.
“And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever:
For His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
And His kingdom is from generation to generation.
All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing;
He does according to His will in the army of heaven
And among the inhabitants of the earth.
No one can restrain His hand or say to Him “What have You done?”
