Pentagon Taps Anti-Christian Extremist for Religious Tolerance Policy

Pentagon Taps Anti-Christian Extremist for Religious Tolerance Policy.

“Today, we face incredibly well-funded gangs of fundamentalist Christian monsters who terrorize their fellow Americans by forcing their weaponized and twisted version of Christianity upon their helpless subordinates in our nation’s armed forces.”

Those words were recently written by Mikey Weinstein, founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), in a column he wrote for the Huffington Post. Weinstein will be a consultant to the Pentagon to develop new policies on religious tolerance, including a policy for court-martialing military chaplains who share the Christian Gospel during spiritual counseling of American troops.

Weinstein decries what he calls the “virulent religious oppression” perpetrated by conservative Christians, whom he refers to as “monstrosities” and “pitiable unconstitutional carpetbaggers,” comparing them to “bigots” in the Deep South during the civil rights era.

He cites Dr. James Dobson—the famous Christian founder of Focus on the Family—as “illustrating the extremist, militant nature of these virulently homophobic organizations’ rhetorically-charged propaganda.” Regarding those who teach orthodox Christian beliefs from the Bible, Weinstein concludes, “Let’s call these ignoble actions what they are: the senseless and cowardly squallings of human monsters.”

Weinstein then endorses the ultra-left Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), who publishes a list of “hate groups.” Alongside truly deplorable organizations like the KKK, the SPLC’s list includes a host of traditional Christian organizations (for their support of traditional marriage) and Tea Party organizations (for supporting limited government). Weinstein says SPLC correctly labels them all as “hate groups.”

Floyd Lee Corkins—the first person ever convicted of domestic terrorism in federal court under the laws of Washington, D.C.—told the FBI that he chose his intended shooting spree targets from the SPLC website’s map. Corkins was arrested at the offices of the Family Research Council (FRC) after shooting a security guard in August 2012. His court documents state that Corkins intended to kill as many people as possible.

Weinstein also supports Lt. Col. Jack Rich, the Army officer who wrote to subordinate officers that soldiers who hold traditional Christian beliefs agreeing with organizations on SPLC’s “hate group” list are incompatible with “Army values” and should be carefully watched and excluded from military service.

According to Weinstein, “We should as a nation effusively applaud Lt. Col. Rich.” He adds that the nation should “venture further” than Rich’s recommendations, saying, “We MUST vigorously support the continuing efforts to expose pathologically anti-gay, Islamaphobic, and rabidly intolerant agitators for what they are: die-hard enemies of the United States Constitution. Monsters, one and all. To do anything less would be to roll out a red carpet to those who would usher in a blood-drenched, draconian era of persecutions, nationalistic militarism, and superstitious theocracy.”

Many media outlets are silent on this disturbing new alliance between fanatical secularists and leaders in the Pentagon appointed by President Barack Obama and Secretary Chuck Hagel, under which the U.S. military would officially consult with someone with such foaming-at-the-mouth passionate hostility toward traditional Christians, including Evangelicals and devout Catholics. The military—America’s most heroic and noble institution—includes countless people of faith, and this represents a radical departure from the U.S. military’s warm embrace of people of faith in its ranks.

Yet the little coverage this story is getting is positive, such as this Washington Post columnthat somehow manages not to carry any of these frightening quotes from Weinstein and instead actually endorses the Pentagon’s meeting with him. Sally Quinn’s Post column also approvingly quotes MRFF Advisory Board member Larry Wilkerson as saying, “Sexual assault and proselytizing, according to Wilkerson, ‘are absolutely destructive of the bonds that keep soldiers together.’”

Did you get that? They say having someone share the Christian gospel with you is akin to being raped. Weinstein makes sure there are no doubts, being quoted by the Post as adding, “This is a national security threat. What is happening [aside from sexual assault] is spiritual rape. And what the Pentagon needs is to understand is that it is sedition and treason. It should be punished.” Read the rest at: Pentagon Taps Anti-Christian Extremist for Religious Tolerance Policy.

U.S. Senate Chaplains via American Minute

U.S. Senate Chaplain Barry C. Black was elected in 2003.

Posted on the official U.S. Senate website is:

“Chaplain’s Office – Throughout the years, the United States Senate has honored the historic separation of Church and State, but not the separation of God and State.

The first Senate, meeting in New York City on APRIL 25, 1789, elected the Right Reverend Samuel Provost, the Episcopal Bishop of New York, as its first Chaplain.

During the past two hundred and seven years, all sessions of the Senate have been opened with prayer, strongly affirming the Senate’s faith in God as Sovereign Lord of our Nation.”

This was a continuation of the practice of the Continental Congress during the Revolution, as Ben Franklin remarked in 1787:

“In the beginning of the Contest with Great Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayer in this room for Divine protection.”

The first Senate Chaplain was Bishop Samuel Provoost, who conducted George Washington’s Inaugural Service at New York’s St. Paul’s Chapel.

Bishop Samuel Provoost preached the first Episcopal ordination sermon in St. George’s Chapel, New York City, July 15, 1787:

“We are occupied in the…most important business that can possibly engage the human mind…that…in the Hands of God, we shall be made the happy instruments of turning many from Darkness to Light, and from the Power of Satan to the Knowledge and Love of the Truth…

Lay no other foundation than that which is already laid…upon the Doctrine of Jesus Christ, and him crucified…

Let us all unite our most strenuous endeavors, that the Gospel of Jesus Christ may run and be glorified, till the earth be filled with the Knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”

From 1789-2013, the 62 Senate Chaplains have been Christian:

Episcopalian 19,
Methodist 17,
Presbyterian 14,
Baptist 6,
Unitarian 2,
Congregational 1,
Lutheran 1,
Catholic 1,
Seventh-day Adventist 1.

Occasionally members of other faiths have been invited to offer prayers.

The U.S. Senate Chaplain after World War II was Peter Marshall, who prayed:

“Our liberty is under God and can be found nowhere else. May our faith be not merely stamped upon our coins, but expressed in our lives.”

Peter Marshall’s son, Peter Marshall, Jr., together with David Manuel, wrote the best-selling book, The Light and the Glory, which traced the Hand of Providence in the founding of America.

On February 7, 1984, President Reagan addressed the National Association of Secondary School Principals:

“God…should never have been expelled from America’s schools.

As we struggle to teach our children…we dare not forget that our civilization was built by men and women who placed their faith in a loving God.

If Congress can begin each day with a moment of prayer…so then can our sons and daughters.”

Pro-abortion group hires Obama-linked consulting firm to grill pro-lifers in their homes | The Daily Caller

Pro-abortion group hires Obama-linked consulting firm to grill pro-lifers in their homes | The Daily Caller.

The pro-abortion organization NARAL Pro-Choice America hired a consulting firm linked to President  to conduct extensive video interviews with young pro-life activists in their homes more than a year ago, without informing the pro-life activists that the videos were intended for NARAL’s use.

At least one of the videos was aired this month at NARAL’s Washington dinner introducing the organization’s new president, Ilyse Hogue. The video was presented at the dinner in order to show pro-choice activists the “passion” of pro-lifers on the other side of the issue “in an effort to fire up (NARAL) members.” President Obama alsosent a video message to NARAL that was shown at the dinner.

The young pro-life activist featured in the video had no idea that his interview footage would be used by NARAL to rile people up against him.

FEB. 18 – President’s Day-George Washington’s Birthday

American Minute with Bill Federer

FEB. 18 – President’s Day-George Washington’s Birthday

President’s Day is officially George Washington’s Birthday, who was born FEBRUARY 22, 1732, but the Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1968 moved its observance to the 3rd Monday in February.Washington was unanimously chosen as the Army’s Commander-in-Chief, unanimously chosen as President of the Constitutional Convention, and unanimously chosen as the first U.S. President.

As General, Washington acknowledged God after victories throughout the Revolution and as President thanked God for the Constitution, October 3, 1789:

“Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God…

I do recommend…rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks, for…the favorable interpositions of His Providence…we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war…for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government.”

Washington was Anglican, and after the Revolution, Episcopalian.

His great-great-grandfather, Rev. Lawrence Washington, was an Anglican minister in Essex, England, who lost his position when the Puritans won the Civil War.

Washington’s great-grandfather, John Washington, immigrated to Virginia and became a planter, politician, and militia leader, who even had a local Anglican church renamed “Washington” in his honor. John Washington left to the church of a tablet with the Ten Commandments..

Washington’s grandfather, Lawrence, was

Anglican, as was his father, Augustine, who served as a vestryman at the Anglican Truro Parish.

George Washington became vestryman in Truro Parish, and was godfather in baptism to a niece and several nephews.

Washington had the Declaration of Independence read to his troops, then ordered chaplains placed in each regiment, stating July 9, 1776:

“The General hopes and trusts, that every officer and man, will endeavour so to live, and act, as becomes a Christian Soldier, defending the dearest Rights and Liberties of his country.”

General Washington wrote at Valley Forge, May 2, 1778:

“To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest Glory to laud the more distinguished Character of Christian.”

To the Delaware Indian Chiefs who brought three youths to be trained in American schools, General Washington stated, May 12, 1779:

“You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ.”

On October 2, 1775, General George Washington issued the order:

“Any…soldier who shall hereafter be detected playing at toss-up, pitch, and hustle, or any other games of chance…shall without delay be confined and punished…The General does not mean by the above to discourage sports of exercise or recreation, he only means to discountenance and punish gaming.”

On February 26, 1776, General Washington issued the orders:

“All…soldiers are positively forbid playing at cards and other games of chance. At this time of public distress men may find enough to do in the service of their God and their country, without abandoning themselves to vice and immorality.”

On July 4, 1775, General Washington ordered:

“The General…requires…observance of those articles of war…which forbid profane cursing, swearing and drunkenness; And.. .requires… punctual attendance of Divine Services.”

As recorded in The Writings of George Washington (March 10, 1778, 11:83-84, U.S. Government Printing Office, 1934), General Washington ordered:

“At a General Court Marshall…Lieutt. Enslin of Colo. Malcom’s Regiment tried for attempting to commit sodomy….and do sentence him to be dismiss’d the service with Infamy. His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief approves the sentence and with Abhorrence and Detestation of such Infamous Crimes orders Liett. Enslin to be drummed out of Camp tomorrow morning by all the Drummers and Fifers in the Army never to return.”

In his Farewell Address, 1796, Washington stated:

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports.

In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness.”

The Darkest Design of Barack Obama

By Eric Rush

The Darkest Design of Barack Obama.

If this story by Eric Rush is true and I have no reason to doubt it, it is further evidence of the pretense of Christian belief by both Barack Obama and those who are in his administration. China has one of the worst record of persecuting Christians and of forcing abortions, in the world. But this is not the only consideration that this story enlightens us upon. It is further evidence of the lawlessness of Barack Obama and the total lack of any desire to advance the ability of the American people to recover from the mess that we are in. We can not blame this all on him, but the policies and programs that he promotes lead to further debt, more lawlessness, violence, destruction and they further promote a culture of death. It is a policy of divide and conquer and not a desire to lead.

I will not say that we are without hope as Christians because it is not true, our hope does not rest upon anything in this mortal world but only in our Lord Jesus Christ, our home is in heaven as is our treasure. I merely point this out as a notice that the prophecies that have been given us, seem to be in the process of being fulfilled and as instructed by Jesus Himself, it is our job to watch, listen, warn and be aware so that we are not caught unaware.  God uses men to accomplish His goals and if this is the time that Jesus will return, God can use Barack Obama to accomplish this. We need to use our voices and warn high and low of the coming difficulties so that followers will not be caught unaware. We know that in the end time that we will face increased persecution and it is happening throughout the whole of the world to varying degrees. We have lost God’s grace by our embrace of abortion, homosexuality and all the other sins of the world, to expect that we would not face persecution would be to fly in the very face of the word of the Lord. Please click on the link above and read the story and please share as well.  Thank you and God bless!

Dividing Society or Condoning Sin

jesus-with-crown-of-thornsAre certain segments of Christianity exempt from God‘s laws simply because they don’t like them or find them offensive?

Should we as follower of  Christ separate people into different classes in order to keep from offending them if what they practice as daily like if against the law of God even if they are approved by current society?

I think to most Christians the obvious answer would be no! We would not except murderers, thieves, or even gluttons into accepted categories of sin. Sin is sin and it is something that we are all guilty of. True murderers and thieves are breaking the law of man as well and if convicted of their crimes, face a mortal court and a punishment here on earth for their crimes. That does not mean that they will not face judgment when they stand before the Lord!

But judgment is not our job, we are specifically warned against judging. But spreading the truth of God’s word is what we are required to do. Sitting silent and letting those who are committing acts that are a violation of the law that God set forth fail to reach out to God and repent or change is our responsibility. We can not make them, they have free will. What they choose to do is their own responsibility. If we do not do God’s will and warn them that they are committing a sin, we will face God’s judgment ourselves.

We are in a time where certain acts are favorable with those in power, murder of innocents in abortion, homosexuality, the sexual abuse of children, stealing money from those who earned it, violence against those who are different color, nationality, faith, or even a different political position. We are living in an increasing violent world where drones are being used to kill people whom some have judged guilty without a trial, where those who disagree with those in power are bullied and shamed regardless of the truth or rightness of their beliefs. Where wars are encouraged because those in power think that some other leadership would do a better job.

A. W. Tozer said:

“Another kind of religious leader must arise among us. He must be of the old prophet type, a man who has seen
visions of God and has heard a voice from the Throne. When he comes (and I pray God there will be not one but
many), he will stand in flat contradiction to everything our smirking, smooth civilization holds dear. He will
contradict, denounce and protest in the name of God and will earn the hatred and opposition of a large segment
of Christendom. Such a man is likely to be lean, rugged, blunt- spoken and a little bit angry with the world. He
will love Christ and the souls of men to the point of willingness to die for the glory of the One and the salvation
of the other. But he will fear nothing that breathes with mortal breath.”

Jesus told us to pick up our cross and follow Him, he never said it was going to be easy. He told the woman accused of adultery:  ”And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” John 8:11 We don’t condemn those who are practicing sin, we simply inform them of God’s word and that they can come to Jesus and be saved.

Society may accept any type of behavior that they choose. It is shameful that they accept the things that they do. However we knew the world would come to this point. It has to for prophecy to be fulfilled. We may not like to live in it, we are already being persecuted for our beliefs. This does not negate our responsibility to do God’s will and spread the Word to the world. Explaining what sin is and giving people an opportunity to repent, is what God wants us to do.

If we fail to tell someone that abortion is murder in God’s eyes or that homosexuality is indeed a sin, not only will they lose the opportunity to change, but we will lose the opportunity to do what God wants us to do and we will lose as well. Their blood will be upon our heads:

Ezekiel 33:8-9

King James Version (KJV)

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

This is something that is the responsibility of all followers of Christ. It is up to all of us. It is not just for the Pastors, we are all ministers in the eyes of the Lord. We minister in what we say, what we do and how we act. We don’t stand for ourselves, we stand for Jesus, we don’t live for what the world thinks is right, we live for what the Lord wants.

I have read several posts this morning about Louie Giglio and his disinvite from giving the benediction at President Obama’s second inaugural ceremony and it is simplistic to look at the words spoken on both sides of the issue as simply representing peoples opinion. It is so much more than that. It is a further degradation of the ability of Christians to speak in public in a country that was founded upon the principles of Religious Liberty. It is also a sign that evil is more and more prevalent in our society and that the final conflict is getting closer. It is a warning to all who can see that we must be prepared and we much choose on which side we intend to stand. There is no middle ground.

From Red State

Having to Choose

an excerpt: “

But twenty years ago he gave a sermon that could be considered prophetic. He told Christians of the coming pursuit of an aggressive homosexual agenda and that they must not stick their heads in the sand and let happen what happens. You can hear that bit here.

He went further than that. He admonished Christians that, in dealing with the issue, they must do so without hate, but with love. They must not condemn, but lead to Christ. But he also said they must stand their ground.

In the sermon, Louie made clear that the secular world is against Christians on this issue. But most controversially, he said that gays can be saved from their sin by embracing Jesus Christ, through whom all things are possible. Listen to his statement. Louie Giglio’s grievous and offensive sin is that he dares to believe in sin.

His statement is one of orthodox Christianity. Over time, many Christians have accepted that people can be born gay and that it may not be a choice as you or I might perceive it. If we are all born into sin and homosexuality is a sin, which it is, then it seems to fix Christian orthodoxy that one can be born gay. The problem is that, for orthodox Christians, it is still a sin and the world is increasingly hostile to the idea that any sexual sin should be treated as sin. The world is opposed to moral truth and standards and demands intolerance in the name of tolerance.”

“2 Timothy 4:3-4 notes, “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” Secularists peddling a secular agenda in the name of tolerance have declared Truth to be myth and myth to be truth. They hear what they want to hear and condemn what they do not understand as intolerance.”

From Albert Mohler:

“Anyone who teaches at any time, to any degree, that homosexual behavior is a sin is now to be cast out.

Second, we should note that Pastor Giglio’s sermon was, as we would expect and hope, filled with grace and the promise of the Gospel. Giglio did not just state that homosexuals are sinners — he made clear that every single human being is a sinner, in need of the redemption that is found only in Jesus Christ. “We’ve got to say to the homosexuals, the same thing that I say to you and that you would say to me. … It’s not easy to change, but it’s possible to change,” he preached. He pointed his congregation, gay and straight, to “the healing power of Jesus.” He called his entire congregation to repent and come to Christ by faith.

That is the quintessential Christian Gospel. That is undiluted biblical truth. Those words are the consensus of the Church for over 2,000 years, and the firm belief held by the vast majority of Christians around the world today.

The Presidential Inaugural Committee and the White House have now declared historic, biblical Christianity to be out of bounds, casting it off the inaugural program as an embarrassment. By its newly articulated standard, any preacher who holds to the faith of the church for the last 2,000 years is persona non grata. By this standard, no Roman Catholic prelate or priest can participate in the ceremony. No Evangelical who holds to biblical orthodoxy is welcome. The vast majority of Christians around the world have been disinvited. Mormons, and the rabbis of Orthodox Judaism are out. Any Muslim imam who could walk freely in Cairo would be denied a place on the inaugural program. Billy Graham, who participated in at least ten presidential inaugurations is welcome no more. Rick Warren, who incited a similar controversy when he prayed at President Obama’s first inauguration, is way out of bounds. In the span of just four years, the rules are fully changed.

The gauntlet was thrown down yesterday, and the axe fell today. Wayne Besen, founder of the activist group Truth Wins Out, told The New York Timesyesterday: “It is imperative that Giglio clarify his remarks and explain whether he has evolved on gay rights, like so many other faith and political leaders. It would be a shame to select a preacher with backward views on LBGT people at a moment when the nation is rapidly moving forward on our issues.”

And there you have it — anyone who has ever believed that homosexuality is morally problematic in any way must now offer public repentance and evidence of having “evolved” on the question. This is the language that President Obama used of his own “evolving” position on same-sex marriage. This is what is now openly demanded of Christians today. If you want to avoid being thrown off the program, you had better learn to evolve fast, and repent in public.

This is precisely what biblical Christians cannot do. While seeking to be gentle in spirit and ruthlessly Gospel-centered in speaking of any sin, we cannot cease to speak of sin as sin. To do so is not only to deny the authority of Scripture, not only to reject the moral consensus of the saints, but it undermines the Gospel itself. The Gospel makes no sense, and is robbed of its saving power, if sin is denied as sin.”

Warning Signs: Would States Secede to Protect Their Citizens?

Warning Signs: Would States Secede to Protect Their Citizens?.

Many, if not most, Americans are unaware that the nation is composed of separate republics with their own constitutions. They are, of course, the individual states.
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved respectively, or to the people.” – Tenth Amendment
By tying compliance with federal laws and regulation to receiving funds, the states have been coerced to accept programs that limit freedoms enumerated in the Constitution and the passage of Obamacare is but one example. Some twenty states have refused to set up the mandated insurance exchanges. Obamacare grants the government complete control over the provision of medical care that every American has formerly received from the free market health system that it destroyed. It gives the federal government control over our lives in terms of who lives or dies.
As noted on the website of the Tenth Amendment Center: “The Founding Fathers has good reason to pen the Tenth Amendment.”
“The issue of power – and especially the great potential for a power struggle between the federal and the state governments – was extremely important to the America’s founders. They deeply distrusted government power, and their goal was to prevent the growth of the type of government that the British has exercised over the colonies.” Read the rest at Warning Signs: Would States Secede to Protect Their Citizens?.

States Rights

Portrait of John C. Calhoun

Portrait of John C. Calhoun (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

There is a lot of discussion about State’s Rights and whether so many of the policies and regulations that are being proposed on the Federal Scale are in violation of the States Rights. Personally I think that many of them are, but one of the worst cases is the Federal Involvement in our schools. I think that a large portion of our educators, legislators, and laypeople are unaware that legally the federal government has no right to force any standards upon the schools. They may suggest, offer money for the policies that they want implemented, but they have no legal authority to force states to follow these standards.

How much influence do we want a federal government to have? When do we stop letting them force by bullying and threatening the schools in order to get policies in place that go totally against our moral values and common sense? We have in power an administration that uses bullying, threats, and even suing states in order to force their will upon the people of this country. How far do they go before it becomes treasonous? When you are in the process of destroying the very thing that you took an oath to protect, when does it become a violation? I am not saying that this leadership should be tried for treason, I am saying when are the people of this country and leaders in the separate states going to wake up and realize that what is being done to them is in violation of the Constitution and that they do have other options that to just answer the lawsuits in court and depend upon a Federal Court that may be just a guilty of violating their own oath of office.

Our founders intent was for the States to trump the Federal, for the Federal to be an arm of the State to promote the welfare of the States and the people. We have let it be turned around where the States are an aterthought and only seem to enjoy rights granted to them by the Federal Government and those are constantly being ignored or whittled away if they don’t fit the desires of whomever is in power at the time.

A DISCOURSE ON THE CONSTITUTION AND GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES

John C. CalhounUnion and Liberty: The Political Philosophy of John C. Calhoun [1811]

If it be possible still to doubt that the several States retained their sovereignty and independence unimpaired, strong additional arguments might be drawn from various other portions of the instrument—especially from the third article, section third, which declares, that— “treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.” It might be easily shown that— “the United States” —mean here—as they do everywhere in the constitution—the several States in their confederated character—that treason against them, is treason against their joint sovereignty—and, of course, as much treason against each State, as the act would be against any one of them, in its individual and separate character. But I forbear. Enough has already been said to place the question beyond controversy. Read the entire discourse at Online Library of Liberty!

Debunking the Common Core “The Emperor’s New Clothes” Narrative…. via The Bell News

Debunking the Common Core “The Emperor’s New Clothes” Narrative….

and why are education reformers/politicians ascribing to fairy tales for policy?

Should Common Core State Standards be considered an educational version of the story “The Emperor’s New Clothes”?  The standards are the promise of  new clothes for education but is there basis for believing there are any clothes at all?  From Wikipedia:

The Emperor’s New Clothes” (DanishKejserens nye Klæder) is a short tale byHans Christian Andersen about two weavers who promise an Emperor a new suit of clothes that is invisible to those unfit for their positions, stupid, or incompetent. When the Emperor parades before his subjects in his new clothes, a child cries out, “But he isn’t wearing anything at all!” The tale has been translated into over a hundred languages.[1]

Christopher H. Tienken, Editor of AAASA Journal of Scholarship and Practice provided commentary in the Winter 2011 publication entitled Common Core State Standards: An Example of Data-less Decision Making.

His research may just expose the standards to be unfit and fallacy to those who are critical thinkers asking for data determining their stated validity.  This article should be studied by educators, politicians, taxpayers, to understand the colossal farce Common Core standards are in terms of providing promises of educational improvement for American students as they are unproven and untested.

Tienken writes the standards have not been validated empirically and no metric has been set to monitor the intended and unintended consequences they will have on the education system and children (Mathis, 2010).  So why would governors and private trade organizations spend millions of taxpayer dollars on theories instead of verifiable researched data?  The CCSS proponents have bought into these two arguments:

  • America’s children are “lagging” behind international peers in terms of academic achievement, and
  • the economic vibrancy and future of the United States relies upon American students outranking their global peers on international tests of academic achievement because of the mythical relationship between ranks on those tests and a country’s economic competitiveness.

Where’s the data supporting the CCSS proponents’  arguments?  There isn’t much put forth by the education reformers.  So why are states and school districts implementing unproven and untested theories?  He defines the acceptance/lack of data for the unproven and untested CCSS assessments and implementation allegedly designed to enable students to become “globally competitive” with such sentences/phrases as:

  • An unbelievable suspension of logic and evidence
  • To believe that economic strength of the United States relies on how students rank on the Trends in International Math and Science Study (TIMSS) or the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), rather than reliance on policy (tax, trade, health, labor, finance, monetary, housing, natural resources policy)…”is like believing in the tooth fairy”
  • The “critical skills necessary to compete in the 21st century” are repackaged 19th century ideas and skills…they are “inert, sterile, socially static”…the CCSS are stuck in a curricular time machine set in 1858
  • Connecting an individual’s education achievement on a standardized test to a nation’s economic future is not empirically or logically acceptable and using that mythical connection for large-scale policymaking is civically reckless…when school administrators implement programs and policies built on those faulty arguments, they commit education malpractice
  •  More countries with national standards underperformed the US than did countries without national standards
  • To think that every student in this country should be made to learn the same thing is illogical—it lacks face validity…we should have learned from the Soviet Union that central planning does not work in the long-run
  • Standardization and testing are so entrenched in Singapore that every attempt to diversity the system has failedleaving Singapore a country that has high test scores but no creativity
  • (CCSS) creates a standardizing apparatus…we should respect differences among children, not try to extinguish them…there is a lot more going on here on the societal level than meets the eye…it’s more complex than the creators and vendors of the standards either understand or wish to present
  • Children have a right to a quality education.  School leaders, those who prepare them, and the people who lead our professional organizations have a duty to help provide the quality…if some education leaders choose to drink the snake oil then they should expect to get sick.  If some help sell it, they should resign.

He backs up his findings with 48 independent referenced sources.  It is worth your time to read his commentary that destroys the CCSS proponents’ arguments with methodical precision based on actual data.  Compare/contrast his research/reference with the data CCSSO and the NGA use:

 ”

Many school districts or schools have “data committees” that make school-widedecisions based on some type of data. Surely there must be quality data available publically to support the use of the CCSS to transform, standardize, centralize and essentially delocalize America’s public education system.  The official website for the CCSS claims to provide such evidence. The site alleges that the standards are “evidence based” and lists two homegrown documents to “prove” it: Myths vs Facts (NGA, 2010) and the Joint International Benchmarking Report (NGA, 2008).

The Myths document presents claims that the standards have “made use of a large and growing body of knowledge” (p. 3).  Knowledge derives in part from carefully controlled scientific experiments and observations so one would expect to find references to high quality empirical research to support the standards.

When I reviewed that “large and growing body of knowledge” offered by the NGA, I found that it was not large, and in fact built mostly on one report, Benchmarking for Success, created by the NGA and the CCSSO, the same groups that created these standards; Hardly independent research.
The Benchmarking report has over 135 end notes, some of which are repetitive references. Only four of the cited pieces of evidence could be considered empirical studies related directly to the topic of national standards and student achievement.

The remaining citations were newspaper stories, armchair magazine articles, op-ed pieces, book chapters, notes from telephone interviews, and several tangential studies.

Many of the citations were linked to a small group of standardization advocates and did not represent the larger body of empirical thought on the topic”.

Tienken’s report needs to be sent to school boards, superintendents, state educational agencies, educational reform groups, governors and state legislators for their response to his research and conclusions.  These private and/or public entities need to asked why they support common core standards and provide the data to back up their beliefs and use of the standards.  If you get shocked faces and declarations from these groups/politicians such as “I do whatever _________ tells me to” (fill in the blank: state agency, federal government, governor, etc), you know the right to direct your school’s educational direction is in dire jeopardy.

Tienken writes those who perpetuate bad ideas based on flawed data are practicing poor leadership.  If some school leaders and their organizations do not want to stand up for children then they should stand down and let those who are will assume the leadership reins.

How do you believe these organizations/politicians will respond (if they do) to Tienken’s research?  Tienken welcomed rebuttal on his 2011 commentary:

“I welcome your rebuttals but please remember: Leave the opinions and ideology behind and bring the evidence”.

Do the CCSS proponents have anything other than opinions and ideology?   This commentary was published in Winter 2011.  I haven’t seen any data backing up CCSS proponents’ assertions, have you?   That’s odd as they state CCSS is data driven.  If they insist CCSS should be data driven, shouldn’t the foundational theory of their reforms consist of verifiable data to determine the veracity of their argument?

Dr. Tienken’s academic profile:

Christopher Tienken, Ed.D. is an assistant professor of Education Administration at Seton Hall University. He has public school administration experience as a PK-12 assistant superintendent, middle school principal, and elementary school assistant principal. He began his career in education as an elementary school teacher. Dr Tienken’s research interests include the effect and influence of professional development on teacher practice and student achievement, the construct validity of high-stakes standardized tests as decision-making tools about student achievement and school effectiveness, and curricular interventions used in schools to improve achievement. His research about the effects of professional development on student achievement has been recognized by the Institute of Education Sciences and the National Staff Development Council awarded him the Best Research Award in 2008.

William— One Christians Vote Against Obama

No Middle Ground

We all have choices to make that will decide our future as well as our present. It does not matter if we choose to do anything or not. Inaction is as much of a choice as action is. Evil exists, and whether we know we face it or not, we do face it everyday. Sometimes it is subtle, sometimes it is in your face. Sometimes it is a little thing and others it is huge. What we decide to do in each situation is always a choice between light and darkness. Only through trusting in God and following His will can we know we are on the right path.

Here in the US there is an election coming up very soon and we must make a choice.  One way to look at the candidates that are running is to look at what their actions are, and what is the result of their actions. Do they promote life? Or do they promote death? Do they encourage Christian values? Or do they cause Christians to make choices that violate their beliefs? Do their words match their actions? Do they bring people together? Or have they caused division and encourage people to envy and hate others?

What is their stance on life itself? Do they believe that killing babies that are born and unborn, is murder? Or what about their stance on war? What about how they treat the weak and needy? Do they promote actions that encourage life for the elderly and the disabled? Do they think that people should be judged on what they do, not who they are?  Do they think that people are capable of making their own decisions, or do they think that they know better and must make decisions for you?

I am not going to tell you who to vote for, I am going to tell you who I can not vote for! I can not vote for a man that promotes the killing of the unborn and even goes so far as to promote the killing of the born, both those who survive abortion, and by the very policies that he promotes, the disabled and the elderly. That I can not support. I also can not support a man who, despite the laws passed by this country to forbid money going to countries that support the kidnapping of children to provide child soldiers in war, signs waivers to exempt these countries, in direct violation of our laws.

I can not support a man that is lawless. Barack Obama has ignored and violated the laws of this country more that anyone in the history of this country. If he was not President, would we tolerate this kind of lawlessness? If not, why should we tolerate it out of a man that took and oath to protect this country? A man that took an oath to protect and obey the laws of this country and the Constitution that is was founded upon. I can not and will not support a man who thinks that he has the right to tell people that they must go against the morals that they have as followers of Christ and support the killing of babies, the perversion of homosexuality, the thievery of resources from citizens he is supposed to protect.

I can not and will not support a man who seems to believe that he is on an equal footing with God and that he can decide for us what is right and what is wrong. Not only for us, but for our children.  For those who say that Jesus said we should support the Government, and that God expects us to obey the Government, let me remind you of what Jesus said: “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.” Matthew 22:21

Who does life belong to? Does it belong to the government? Or to God? Is it God’s will that our children be taught perversion? Perhaps we should simply look at every policy that is put in place and ask if this is what God would want, and if it isn’t we can not and must not support it. We obey God first and foremost. There is no middle ground and if we try to choose one, we are siding with evil. God bless you and choose life. Not just for the unborn, but for yourself and your children because there truly is no middle ground.

John 3:18-20

King James Version (KJV)

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Matthew 15:18-20

King James Version (KJV)

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Choosing Love or Choosing Death

Due gratitude and reverence to God.[Websters]

1: [Verb] In a general sense to be pleased with; to regard with affection, on account of some qualities which excite pleasing sensations or desire of gratification. We love a friend, on account of some qualities which give us pleasure in his society. We love a man who has done us a favor; in which case, gratitude enters into the composition of our affection. We love our parents and our children, on account of their connection with us, and on account of many qualities which please us. We love to retire to a cool shade in summer. We love a warm room in winter. we love to hear an eloquent advocate. The christian loves his Bible. In short, we love whatever gives us pleasure and delight, whether animal or intellectual; and if our hearts are right, we love God above all things, as the sum of all excellence and all the attributes which can communicate happiness to intelligent beings. In other words, the christian loves God with the love of complacency in his attributes, the love of benevolence towards the interest of his kingdom, and the love of gratitude for favors received. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind – Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Matt. 22..

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

As followers of Christ, our most important goal is to do what Christ instructed us to do. When asked which is the great commandment in the law, He answered:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. Matthew 22:37

He continued:

“And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself”

In November, we Americans have an opportunity to choose those who will represent us. I frame it that way for the very simple reason that according to our own founding documents, that is the reason for elections. We are not choosing rulers, we are choosing representatives. If we as followers of Christ, truly desire to obey what Jesus Christ tells us are the two great commandments, we must look at those who are striving to fill the offices that are open, and evaluate them on how they represent us and our values. Since Jesus gave us the two most important values, these are the first things we must evaluate them on.

  1. Do they love God?
  2. Do they love their neighbor as they do themselves?

Determining if they love God must rely first on their word.

1 John 2:23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

Next they must show that they love God by their actions. We know that just believing that Jesus is the Son of God is not enough because even the demons believe. So belief is just the beginning! We must observe and see if they have put on the new man.

Ephesians 4:25-32

King James Version (KJV)

25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27 Neither give place to the devil.

28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 5:1-6

King James Version (KJV)

5 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

No one on earth is perfect but there must be some evidence that those who profess to love God and follow Christ, actually believe in what they say. If they do, it should be apparent in what they do!

  • Do they lie?
  • Do they steal and take from others?
  • Do they labor and work in order that they can give as well as provide for their own families?
  • Do they speak empty words and try to mislead those around them with those words?
  • Do they give of themselves?
  • Do they promote or practice sexual immorality?
  • Do they worship false idols?
  • Do they force others to worship or accept false idols?

These are just a few things we must evaluate when we evaluate those we want to represent us. What about loving our neighbor as ourselves? I see so many people saying “We must love our neighbor,” and that is quite true. How do we do that? We do that by finishing the commandment, “as ourselves.”

What expectations do we have for ourselves? Jesus said “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.” John 7:16 So what is our doctrine?
What about abortion? I find it amazing that anyone who claims to follow Christ could even question whether we should allow and accept abortion. Especially those who think that we should except rape and incest! Since when does the child of the person who commits a crime, deserve to pay for that crime with their own life?  I would ask why anyone would think that a woman, just by the value of her being a woman, should have the right to judge who should live or die? Does a woman have some greater intelligence or insight into what is the will of God or what would be the future of the child? Does anyone truly think that a woman making the choice of life or death of the child she carries, does so strictly on what is best for the child? By saying that the woman does have that right, you have to go beyond that and ask when does the woman’s insight and intelligence no longer matter? Does she have that same right when the child is born? Those that chose to represent us and promote abortion and even in some cases, the killing of the baby after it is born alive, go against the values of God and place themselves on the same level. Murder is murder no matter how it is sanctioned. An innocent child has committed no crime and deserves the opportunity to live. Allowing anyone to make this decision, no matter how ignorant they may be on life, puts their eternal soul at risk. And if we choose these who promote death  to represent us, we are saying that we approve of their choice.
As for war and supporting those who promote it, war is something that must be judged on the basis of the reason for it. War for power is wrong and never should be supported. Again, it is something that we must evaluate our representatives on.
We must forgive others for their sins and it is not our place to judge. However if we fail to evaluate those we choose to represent us, we by our actions will be choosing to ignore the instructions given to us.
When we choose love, we must choose God first. If we chose love as the world defines it, we are choosing death.

Unlimited Power

I haven’t really written anything about the Supreme Court’s ruling this week that the Healthcare Bill that passed, is actually constitutional based on the fact that it is a tax. I have a lot of questions and I do not like the answers. I am going to pose some of those questions to you my friends and would like you to consider the answer.

  • Are there now any limits on what Congress can require us to purchase?
  • Can Congress now tax us for our lifestyle?
  • Has Congress given one un-elected person in the form of the HHS Secretary, the power to decide what is the correct lifestyle we need to live?
  • Can this be used for Religious Beliefs? By that I mean can the HHS Secretary decide that a Christian lifestyle would be dangerous and therefore anyone who practices our faith could be taxed so much that we can not survive?
  • Have we gone from limited government to unlimited government?
  • If this is not repealed by the next Congress and it continues in force, can it be stopped at any other point?

I realize that some of these are questions without answers, but the possibilities that I see are not ones that lead to good. This seems to me to be mans attempt to force utopia onto his fellow man. Social Engineering at it’s worst. I know that there are some who look forward to the benefits, but I ask you to take a closer look at the probabilities that mortal man will use this to try and force those that don’t agree with his idea of utopia, to accept it anyway. Just as Nebuchadezzer tried to force Shadrah, Meshach, and Abedniggo to bow down to his golden idol, we will probably be pressured to abide by rules and regulations that we find repugnant. But like the “three men in the fire” we have reassurance that God will be with us and we can trust that whatever they try to force upon us, as long as we have faith and stand true to the word of God, He will be the “fourth man in the fire.”

1 Timothy 6:6-16

Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

But you, O man of God, flee from these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ‘s appearing,

which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and the Lord of lords,

who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen

Oh, by the way, he killed Bin Laden

Barack Obama at the University of Nevada, Las ...

Barack Obama at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Presidential Health Care Forum, March 2007. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

As President and the Leader of the country, I would hope that any one who would have had that responsibility would have done the same thing. I respect the fact that Mr. Obama did so! However I have found little else to respect in the actions of Mr. Obama.

Healthcare in this country was the best that was available in the world before Mr. Obama and the Democrat‘s took control of this country. It was against the law to turn anyone with a legitimate emergency away and hospital emergency rooms took care of those who needed the help. I realize that the wait was often long and people abused the services, but that is a minor problem if you consider the services available or not available in the rest of the world. If you were not happy with the way your insurance company was doing business, you had a right to go somewhere else, or you could appeal to the state and bring your case before the public. You had the opportunity to change things. If the Healthcare bill is not struck down by the Supreme Court, and the government has control, you will no longer be able to change anything. Every health care issue you face will be decided by appointees of politicians who only owe their loyalty to those who appointed them. A prime example is the forcing of Christians to provide abortion and the morning after pill which triggers an abortion in the woman taking the pill.

This is another example of the way that this administration feels about life. It seems to feel that there is nothing that man should not do in order to do what they think is the right thing. If it is killing thousands of people with drones, becoming involved in more and more wars, refusing aid to countries unless they are willing to sacrifice their morals and provide abortions, or denying those who find the killing of babies to be morally repugnant or against the principle of their faith.

But it is not just this that bothers me, although it is a major factor and the reason that I did not vote for Mr. Obama in the first place. I had voted Democrat most of my life, but hearing Mr. Obama stand before the Illinois house and defend killing babies that were aborted and yet born alive, shocked me to my core. I was naive enough to believe a lot of Democrats who stated that they would like to see less abortion, but here was a man who wanted to see babies born alive, killed!

Another thing that bothers me is the way that Mr. Obama uses drones to kill those whom he thinks are enemies to our country. It bothers me considerably that one man would think that he has the right to be judge, jury, and executioner. It truly would bother me even if there was a panel that made that decision, but not nearly to the extent that having one man make that choice, does. We see examples of one person making the decision that others do not have the right to live all the time.  Sometimes they base that decision upon their “religion” or their “race”, or even how much money they have. We don’t applaud these people, we often have names for them such as serial killers, or terrorists. Does being the leader of a country make a difference?

Mr. Obama himself doesn’t seem to think so, he has denounced people like the former leaders of Egypt, Libya, and the current leader of Syria.I I am not saying that Mr. Obama is the same as them, but he seems to be headed in that direction and it doesn’t seem to bother him or his followers. When do you go past the point that killing is justified and begin killing just because you can? Does each time make the next one easier?

We have also seen Mr. Obama turn a blind eye to the killing of the Christians in the Middle East. Not only has he very often failed to even condemn those who are committing the murders, he has, in some cases, embraced those very ones who have done the killing.

You have to judge a leader by their actions and every chance Mr. Obama has had to make a decision that would lead to embracing life, he has chosen death instead. When he has had the chance to show respect for those who do choose life, he has chosen to mock and denigrate their choices. When he has the opportunity to lead by example, he chooses to absent himself from the process and leave it to surrogates that he knows will push death over life, and yet he can pretend that it is not really his choice.

Even in the choices that he has made in the matter of the economy or our independence, he has made choices that lead to a decrease in our material wealth, and to a further dependence on both the government and on the decisions of those who would rather see us cease to exist. We are becoming enslaved and dependent on the good will of other countries under the policies of Mr. Obama.

So, when I hear someone who is promoting the reelection of Mr. Obama say, “Oh, by the way, he kill Bin Laden,” I find it very troubling. It makes me wonder at the intelligence of these people who seem to find it so wonderful. Do they truly believe that this is the major factor in the reelection of a leader? Or do they believe that we are so ignorant that nothing else but this would matter to us? Or does he think that this makes him look strong?

If this is their thinking, they are sorely mistaken. We have a whole book of things to make our decision on the future of Mr. Obama. If the killing of Bin Laden was a single outstanding use, or even a very limited use, of our ability to use drones and keep our men and women safe, that would be a good thing. The excess to which the drones are being used is very troublesome.  The fact that Mr. Obama wants to, and has involved us in even more warfare, is another mark against choosing him for a repeat of what he has already done. The negligence in which he has treated the safety and security of our country, the contempt that he has for the beliefs and wishes of the people that he was elected to serve, and the continuing enslavement of the American people by policies that dramatically increase their cost of living are also heavy weights against him.

I would like some of his supporters to point to anything that he has really done that is promoting life in some form or another. Everything that I have seen is promoting death. This to me, is simply unacceptable. I cannot do anything other than stand against such a person.

We are told not to judge others, that it is up to God to judge, and I cannot tell what Mr. Obama believes or what his followers believe. But contrary to what a lot of people who are not followers of Christ, believe, we are not told to act as if the actions of a person have no difference in how we consider them. The very opposite is true, we must consider their actions, because if we do not, by our very silence we are condoning those same actions. We are instructed this way:

“Therefore be followers of God, as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;

neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.

For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Therefore do not be partakers with them. Ephesians 5:1-7

So for all those who would try to deceive us with empty words, it is ignorance on your part to think that we will not take into consideration the actions of the man who was elected to lead our country out of the ugliness that we were in. Do not think that we will accept the empty words that you preached in Mr. Obama’s first election. People were so needy then, and wanting the “hope and change” that was promised, that they forgot that there was a man behind the words. Since that time, we have learned what kind of man that Mr. Obama is.

No longer will we be swayed by promises and empty words. The promises were just as empty as the words and the only change we have gotten is for the worse. Please do not treat us as if we were ignorant and gullible.

So for those that are still undecided on whether to vote for Mr. Obama or not in the coming election, let me say this, I will be voting for life and this administration promotes death! I will be voting for change that allows me to practice my faith and doesn’t try to decide what my faith should be. I will be voting for hope and the promise of a country that believes in it’s people and does not think that we should bow down to every other religion and faith in order to gain respect. We gain respect for standing for our principles. The only thing that giving up your principles gets you, is contempt from those that you bow down to.

Forward or Froward?

My good friend Christine at Talk Wisdom posted a really good piece Saturday. I’d like to share it with Loopy’s readers. Here are some excerpts … included in that is something she posted on February 21, 2007 …

Forward or Froward?

As many readers probably already know, the new 2012 Obama campaign has decided to utilize the term “Forward.”  That particular word can mean many things…including the connotation in the past of Communist/Marxist/Socialist government movements.

Excerpt from “New Obama slogan has long ties to Marxism, socialism” article:
The Obama campaign apparently didn’t look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, “Forward” — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.
Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name “Forward!” or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called “Forward (generic name of socialist publications).”
“The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications,” the online encyclopedia explains.
The slogan “Forward!” reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.

Those who have been paying attention to the disastrous policies of ObaMARXIST are not fooled into thinking that the slogan they have chosen is the “innocent” use of the term “Forward”!! Any reasonable person can surmise that this was done purposely in order to “hide in plain sight” their Marxist ideology for the benefit of Obama’s base.

The Froward Heart

Pro 11:20 They that are of a froward heart [are] abomination to the LORD: but [such as are] upright in [their] way [are] his delight. (KJV)
Froward. Not a term that we hear much these days.
Let’s look at the definitions and synonyms of that word from Dictionary.com:

froward
O.E. from weard “turned from or away,” from from + -weard. Opposite of toward, it renders L. pervertus in early translations of the Psalms, and also meant “about to depart, departing,” and “doomed to die.” Online Etymology Dictionary, © 2001 Douglas Harper

******* Wow! That’s certainly a “loaded” word, full of negative meanings!!
Other Bible translations for Proverbs 11:30 say this:
NKJV – Pro 11:20 – Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the LORD, But the blameless in their ways are His delight.New King James Version © 1982 Thomas Nelson
NLT – Pro 11:20 – The Lord hates people with twisted hearts, but he delights in those who have integrity. New Living Translation © 1996 Tyndale Charitable Trust
NIV – Pro 11:20 – The Lord detests men of perverse heart but he delights in those whose ways are blameless. New International Version © 1973, 1978, 1984 International Bible Society
NASB – Pro 11:20 – The perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD, But the blameless in {their} walk are His delight. New American Standard Bible © 1995 Lockman Foundation
RSV – Pro 11:20 – Men of perverse mind are an abomination to the LORD, but those of blameless ways are his delight. Revised Standard Version © 1947, 1952.
The Bible is filled with verses regarding the heart, and the character of the unrepentant.
That’s the bad news which we all must face about our spiritual state of being since the Fall.
The Bible is an honest book. It records the deeds, errors, sins, and evil done by men because of the “froward heart.”
Just click on the link above and read the list of descriptions regarding the froward heart! The verses listed there clearly tell us what the unregenerate heart is severely capable of…and it’s not pretty!

If I was your Boyfriend (spoof) via Grumpy Opinions

I have been staying away from politics pretty much lately, but I am sure most of you know my position. I am not a supporter of the Obama administration because of their stance on Life, as well as numerous other stance’s, too many to enumerate at this point. My friend Grumpy Elder has a post up that is well worth taking time for. It is honest, amusing, informing and relevant. Perhaps there will be some  who do not like it, but since there are so many things that are unappealing in the current administration that are being actively promoted. I seriously doubt that taking a humorous look at the administration is harmful in any way. Oh and please visit grumpy and watch the other videos, as well as read the rest of his daily newspaper, you will find a treasure trove of useful information. Entertaining and Educating you at Grumpy Opinion’s!!!!!
