The history of religion doesn’t support that statement. Religions have always been at least in part a reflection of the people who practice them. From the Greeks with their hedonists on Olympus to the vikings and their warrior gods people have always worshipped dieties that embody their personal ideals. And you don’t even have to look at different religions to see this. In its 2,000 year history Christianity has been a small, outlawed sect, it’s been a violent, oppressive government, it’s been a profiteering scam selling indulgences and then finally arrived at it’s current relatively benevolent form. All those people down through the centuries sincerely believed they were working God’s will. They CAN’T all have been right. They believed what they wanted to.

Since I am not sure what you are commenting on exactly, but since you obviously just want to bash Christianity I decided to unspam your comment. Interesting that even askimet decided that you really didn’t comment appropriately don’t you think. But you probably didn’t subscribe to get a reply, just bash, which I must say is kind of cowardly don’t you think? Let me answer your statements, at least in part:
You are right about religion and if people want something to justify their actions they will find it.
Christianity came into being 2000 years ago because God, who is also the God of the Jews and has been around since the creation because He is the creator, sent His Son to die for the sins of those who were willing to accept and follow Him. Thankfully by His grace, He allowed us gentiles to be adopted in.
Outlawed by some, as Judaism has been as well, embraced by many millions across the whole world, and while some governments did require their people to embrace a form of Christianity, Christ is a king that will rule the earth upon His return and anyone that pretends to force people to believe is not following His will.
Indulgence by the Catholic Church will not get their follower into heaven, only accepting Christ as Savior and truly following Him can do that, God is the only one who can forgive sins and He has stated that if you do not follow His Son you will not be forgiven.
Perhaps you should take some time to actually read a bible and find out for yourself what Christianity is and how God wants Christians to behave and how to get your sins forgiven.
God’s will will be done regardless of what anyone else does or preaches, He has given us an opportunity, as to whether we accept it, that is up to us.
No, they are not all right, Jesus is the final judge and those who try to follow Him have their hope in Him and rest on the promises that God gave us. If you wish to know what those are, you too can rest on them, it only require giving up yourself to God, asking forgiveness for your sins and following the instructions that He gave us as His followers and they are in the Book that is the most published work in the world, the Holy Bible. There are many versions. I prefer the King James Version myself..
As far as they believe what they wanted to, many still do, but those are the very ones that will be left at the wayside when Jesus returns and He will tell them ” I never knew You”.
I hope that this answers some of your questions, God bless you and I will keep you in my prayers that you will open your eyes and take advantage of the opportunity that God has given you. In Jesus name I so pray, Amen and amen!
