He is Coming

2 Peter 3

King James Version (KJV)

3 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Should Prayer & the Bible Be Part of America’s Public School Culture? | TheBlaze.com

My answer to this is yes and yes! It is fascinating that this seems to be the majority opinion in defiance of what most liberal media would report.

Should Prayer & the Bible Be Part of America’s Public School Culture? | TheBlaze.com.

Should prayer be more prevalent in public schools?

Following the horrific shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School last Friday, this is one of the many cultural questions that is being asked, as Americans grapple with understanding the senseless rampage. In October, well before the horror unfolded in Connecticut, TheBlaze asked readers to weigh in on the debate over faith and its presence in public schools – a contentious subject that has, once again, come to the forefront this week.

The results of the Blaze poll are fascinating. When asked whether it is appropriate for public school teachers to lead prayer in the classroom, the majority of readers who participated in the poll answered affirmatively. While 54 percent contend that it is appropriate, 46 percent claim that it is not (1,658 individuals answered this question).Read the rest at the Blaze.com

Abortion Activists Attack Pro-Life Group’s Office, Destroy Camera | LifeNews.com

Abortion Activists Attack Pro-Life Group’s Office, Destroy Camera | LifeNews.com.

Two pro-abortion activists attacked the office of the pro-life group Operation Rescue and destroyed a security camera at the organization’s central Kansas headquarters.

Troy Newman, the head of the pro-life group, informed LifeNews of what happened.

He said: “My heart sunk – no, stopped – when the Wichita Police investigator asked me: “Mr. Newman, do you have any enemies? Anyone who really doesn’t like you and wants to hurt you? You know the answer to that question”

“They asked me because they were called to our office to investigate WHY someone had gone to all the trouble to DISABLE our surveillance/security camera system… and then leave,” he said. “One of the veteran officers told me that, in all his years on the force, he had never seen anyone do that. He said it usually means BIG trouble is on the way. And so I asked myself this question. Is a Violent Attack on Operation Rescue Imminent?” Read the rest at Life News.com

Pro-Life Groups Keep Fighting Democratic Bid to Kill Filibuster | LifeNews.com

Pro-Life Groups Keep Fighting Democratic Bid to Kill Filibuster | LifeNews.com.

Leading pro-life organizations are continuing efforts to get pro-life people to lobby members of the Senate against ending the filibuster.

They are worried about a move by pro-abortion Democrats in the Senate to kill the filibuster. If Harry Reid and his colleagues are successful, it would pave the way for President Barack Obama’s abortion agenda.

Today, the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List sent out a legislative alert to its members.

“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is threatening to change the rules of the U.S. Senate in order to make it easier to pass his agenda, including radical pro-abortion policies,”  it said.

6 Warning Signs You Might Be an Accidental Pharisee by Larry Osborne – ChurchLeaders.com –

6 Warning Signs You Might Be an Accidental Pharisee by Larry Osborne – ChurchLeaders.com – Christian Leadership Blogs, Articles, Videos, How To’s, and Free Resources.

The Pharisees’ sad transition from God’s most zealous defenders to Jesus’ archenemies is important for every Christian to understand.

As long as our only image of a Pharisee is that of a spiritual loser and perennial enemy of Jesus, we’ll never recognize the clear and present danger in our own life.

I’ve found that becoming a modern-day, accidental Pharisee is a lot like eating at Denny’s.

No one wants to go there. We just end up there.

The journey usually starts out innocently enough. Read the rest at Church Leaders.com

Questioning Belief and Actions

Is there a difference between questioning whether a person has the characteristics of a Christian, and judging a person’s faith? Should we hold those in leadership to a higher standard if they profess to be Christians? Is the standard higher for a Church leader than it is for a leader in politics? Does a leader in politics who claims to believe in and follow Christ, have a responsibility to hold to the standards that Christ gave for all Christians?

What is the responsibility of those who follow Christ in regards to the behavior of others who profess to do the same? Do we have a responsibility to warn those who are our fellows believers, when they are doing something that goes against the instructions that Jesus left us? If we see someone of faith deliberately committing sin and encouraging those that follow them to do the same, do we have a responsibility to warn them they are on the wrong path? Can we continue to support them in a leadership position? What if that leadership position is political, does that make a difference?

When does judge not lest you be judged change to having their blood upon our hands?

1 Corinthians 4:1-2

King James Version (KJV)

4 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

King James Version (KJV)

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Mark 3:35

King James Version (KJV)

35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Luke 8:21

King James Version (KJV)

21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

Luke 16:12

King James Version (KJV)

12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?

2 Timothy 3:5

King James Version (KJV)

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

King James Version (KJV)

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

1 Timothy 6:3-5

King James Version (KJV)

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Revelation 2:2

King James Version (KJV)

I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

Hebrews 6:4-6

King James Version (KJV)

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
