Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says.

  1. One of my children lives in Harrisionburg, VA. Her neighbor, an old fellow, has a fig tree growing in his yard. And it is the oddest thing. Because of the cold, every year the tree dies back to the roots. Nonetheless, it still grows and bears fruit.

If only I can be as worthy of my Lord’s approval as that tree.

    • Life is amazingly tenacious, isn’t it? God gives us strength, sometimes it is us who don’t recognize it. He knows our worth and He gave His Son for us. God bless Tom!
