“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock:

“and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

“Now everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:

“and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

And He said, “To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it?

“It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth;

“but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all the herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade.”

And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it.

But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.

“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

Your sons and Your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions;

And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour My Spirit in those days.

“And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fir and pillars of smoke.

The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD.

And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the LORD has said, Among the remnant whom the LORD calls.

This begins after Jesus has healed the blind man and the blind man has witnessed to the Pharisees and was cast out by them:

                                                    John 9:35-41

Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?”

He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?”

And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.”

Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him.

And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”

Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, “Are we blind also?”

Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see,’ Therefore your sin remains.
