Obama has been literally doing everything that he can to weaken this country since he took office. He has lowered our defence’s along both borders, he has spent our treasure, he has betrayed our allies and lowered our standard of living.
Now he is going even further and giving away parts of our country. And not just any part, but valuable islands that would increase our oil production if drilling were allowed on them. And to make matters even worse, the state that he is taking this land away from is Alaska.
Read the story for yourself and start spreading the news. This man has betrayed this country in so many ways. How can anyone consider re-electing him unless they want this country to cease to exist?
Report: Obama Administration Is Giving Away 7 Strategic Islands to Russia

The Obama Administration is reportedly giving away Wrangell, Bennett, Jeannette and Henrietta islands in Alaska to Russia. The federal government drew the line to put these seven Alaskan islands on the Russian side
Former senatorial candidate Joe Miller broke this story at World Net Daily:
The Obama administration, despite the nation’s economic woes, effectively killed the job-producing Keystone Pipeline last month. The Arab Spring is turning the oil production of Libya and other Arab nations over to the Muslim Brotherhood. Iraq is distancing itself from the U.S. And everyone recognizes that Iran, whose crude supplies are critical to the European economy, will do anything it can to frustrate America’s strategic interests. In the face of all of this, Obama insists on cutting back U.S. oil potential with outrageous restrictions.
Part of Obama’s apparent war against U.S. energy independence includes a foreign-aid program that directly threatens my state’s sovereign territory. Obama’s State Department is giving away seven strategic, resource-laden Alaskan islands to the Russians. Yes, to the Putin regime in the Kremlin. Read the rest at: Gateway Pundit!

Thank you Bob A. and I agree with you!
And what did we get in return? How do you know that the islands have oil and what is there “strategic” value?
If you had gone to Gateway pundit and read the whole post you would have found the answers to your question! How do we know they have oil?
“The Russians are also to get the tens of thousands of square miles of oil-rich seabeds surrounding the islands. The Department of Interior estimates billions of barrels of oil are at stake.
The simple fact of their richness of resources and being part of Alaska, and barriers between here and Russia make them valuable strategically. And what did we get in return? Nothing!

Singapore’s platform is 50 miles off Florida and we are financing drilling in Brazil deeper than the Gulf.
It is deliberately lessening our security when the people who are suppose to keep us secure, instead give our treasure away to provide resources for those who want to see us destroyed. If this is not a “High Crime”, I wish someone would tell me what it is! God bless you and thank you for that reminder. We must keep telling people what is going on!
How can the prersident have the authority to give away US property? How does he have the authority to take land from a state and give it to a foreign country? This sounds like an impeachable offense to me, Loopy. God knows the GOP better do more than wring their hands about this.
I don’t have the answer to that Free, evidently the State Dept. is negotiating this agreement, but you would think that the Senate would have to approve it. I am not sure how many votes it would take to approve this, if it does have to go to the Senate. I don’t know if they have already given them the authority, but I would truly like to know. Mr. Obama does not seem to recognize the rights of states.
I would think it would require a treaty, which in fact would need Senate approval. That means a 2/3′s majority.
According to Gateway Pundit it is the “The USSR/USA Maritime Boundary Treaty” and it was already ratified! From wikipedia I found this: The United States Senate gave its advice and consent to ratification as early as on September 16, 1991 .” Russia has yet to ratify it, but the lines are being drawn by our own State Department, with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama’s approval. According to the State Dept. fact sheet:
The U.S.-USSR Maritime Boundary Agreement was signed in 1990. The negotiations that led to that agreement did not address the status of Wrangel Island, Herald Island, Bennett Island, Jeannette Island, or Henrietta Island, all of which lie off Russia’s Arctic coast, or Mednyy (Copper) Island or rocks off the coast of Mednyy Island in the Bering Sea. None of the islands or rocks above were included in the U.S. purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867.
It seems from reading this that these islands were not even considered as part of the Treaty until the current State Dept. redrew the lines and included them into the agreement to cede to Russia!
I went back and did a little more research Free, apparently this treaty was codified by the Senate in 1991 and even though the Russians have yet to formally approve it, the Obama State Dept. has just gone back and redrawn the lines and included these islands that were never even mentioned in the original treaty. I don’t know where they get the authority to do that, but then this administration doesn’t seem to think they need any authority to do anything, If they want it, they just do it.
“And not just any part, but valuable islands that would increase our oil production if drilling were allowed on them.”
In his radio address this morning Obama continued to brag about the millions of jobs our nation’s manufacturers are creating through new efficiencies. That was not the case with Solyndra, Beacon, or Ener1, he gave that away.
I sometimes wonder how anyone can believe and trust him, this is sickening, but it is also frightening. If these are the things we find out about, what about the things we don’e find out about? What are we going to find when he leaves office?
Could be the first time in history that a country has given away territory without being forced by the loss of a war … oh, wait, we did lose a war—to the domestic enemies called ‘Democrats.’
I wish that they would explain to us why they hate this country so much and what they plan on doing when it is finally gone! Do they think that the ones who will take over will reward them and thank them? They are crazy if they do, they will probably be the first ones to be rounded up. How could anyone trust those who are willing to sell out their own country for nothing but because they don’t happen to like it!
Heheh, Bob, I’ve been wondering if we haven’t already been given over to some nation since Obama doesn’t seem to think the Constitution and the Congress matter-darn those roadbumps!~
Oops. I forgot. Bush paved the way with the Patriot Act. No president will readily rescind that act because it gives them power over the Congress.

I feel so much better now that that’s taken care of that I wouldn’t mind if they sold all of Alaska to the Russians. {sarcasm meant}
I’ve heard that Canada is ramping up their military.
Canada probably needs to, with the way Obama is cutting our own, it is a direct invitation to all our enemies. The news that they want to cut 80% of our nuclear missiles is horrifying and totally unreasonable. If this man wins another term we will no longer exist, Sherry!
loopy: Re your statement:
“None of the islands or rocks above were included in the U.S. purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867.
It seems from reading this that these islands were not even considered as part of the Treaty until the current State Dept. redrew the lines and included them into the agreement to cede to Russia!”
That being the case, were those islands ever ours? I’m confused.
Good catch partnering, I didn’t complete the explantion. Here it is, from The Borg Conspiracy: “May 1881 US explorers approached Jeannette Island and Henrietta Island and claimed them for the United States. According to some US individuals, including the group State Department Watch, eight Arctic islands currently controlled by Russia, including Wrangel Island, are claimed by the United States. However, according to the United States Department of State no such claim exists. The USSR/USA Maritime Boundary Treaty, which has yet to be approved by the Russian Duma, does not address the status of these islands nor the maritime boundaries associated with them.”
It seems as if these islands were considered by many to be part of Alaska, including the state itself, as well as by many others in the U.S. But the current State Dept. does not consider them to be part of Alaska. Who is right? I don’t know, but it seems to me that if they have been considered part of Alaska for years and no one has argued the point, they should belong to Alaska. Since when can the State Dept. decide unilaterally that something doesn’t belong to us?

Reblogged this on YOU DECIDE.
This is the executive agreement between Secretary of State James A. Baker III and Soviet
Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze signed on June 1, 1990, to take effect on June 15, 1990.
It purported to execute all of the terms of the “Agreement” (proposed treaty signed on the same
date) “pending the entry into force of that Agreement”. [See the Proposed Treaty.] Being an
executive agreement, it can be rescinded at any time by either party unilaterally. It is currently
being enforced by the State Department on various federal agencies.
This executive agreement was hidden from the public and Congress for nearly two years
after it was signed in June 1990. It was not disclosed in any public news release when it was
signed in June 1990. It was not mentioned in the President George Bush’s transmittal of the
proposed treaty Agreement to the Senate. It was not mentioned in any testimony at the Senate
hearing on the proposed treaty Agreement by the State Department in June 1991. It was not
mentioned in the Committee Report on that hearing. It was not mentioned in the full Senate
debate in September 1991.http://www.statedepartmentwatch.org/1990ExecAgreement.htm

It is the most clear explanation I have seen, and it raises more questions on the State Dept. for several administrations. But is also still questions why the Obama administration is pushing this now, when it would be more in our interests to void this agreement.

This topic has been argued and dcsiussed on FA many times in the past, mostly with conservatives on one side and liberals, the other. The links to those articles are somewhat new, and belie a concerted effort by some in the country, to give the message to the people that drilling for our own resources will never free us from dependence on oil imports. The conclusions drawn by many who argue along these lines, namely that investment in green , or renewable energy sources is the only thing that will free us from dependence of imported oil, is incorrect. Some speak of taxes on exhaust amounts, which presumably will force vehicle buyers into more efficient, or even gas-free, forms of automobiles. This is supposed to lead to more government spending on green technologies. I submit that it is nothing more than a racket to increase unearned wealth and line the pockets of the environmentalist snake-oil salesmen, and the politicians who promote it.You cannot force’ technology to become mainstream without several ill-effects to the general economy. Propping up the enviro-friendly tech companies, with government subsidies, interest free loans, and government removal of competition, is an artificial means of ensuring success amongst these companies. And in order to do so, the government has to hamstring current tech by raising taxes, increasing regulations, and generally forcing an inequality of cost-effectiveness in the green techs favor. These new green tech companies do not have to survive by putting out the best product available. The market they swim in, moves away from freedom, into one of forced choices. At that point, all desire for innovation to put forth the best product available, succumbs to decisions based on who has the best friends within the government.Obama isn’t incoherent on energy policy. He is simply free-market unfriendly, particularly to U.S. companies.Reply

“I’ve known a few people like Obama. Real big on talk but when it comes time to take acotin…NOTHING.”I’ve run into this often enough in the course of my life that I have my own phrase for it: “The illusion of competence.” The results can be truly tragic and horrifying when the described party is really in a position where his or her undetected incompetence puts lives on the line. Can’t say I agree entirely with Elrond, a Federal-directed response would beat the crap out of BP’s ineffective puttering around, but to work it would basically require three things: (a) Actual leadership, (b) A task force assembled from the oil industry, not a moley collection of goof-off Government agencies, and (c) a blank checkbook, because the cost of not acting promptly and effectively is much higher yet. The Oministration doesn’t have (a), hates ‘Corporatists’ so won’t do (b), and won’t touch (c) unless it benefits ACORN, SEIU, or the ballot box.I believe their strategy is a mixture of pure dithering and a certain unjustified but cynical belief in a few quarters (cough-Rahmbo-cough) that all the consequences will reflect badly on big multinational corporations in general and the fossil fuel industry in particular, but it’s a huge misjudgment of the electorate’s expectations of the Federal government to putz around with this the way they have. The MSM has gone to great lengths to say “Not Obama’s Katrina,” a point on which they are quite mistaken. You’re doing a heck of a job, Bammie.
Good analysis, thank you and God bless!
