The Obama Administration: Dealers of Death?(updated)
The Gunwalker story and it’s related tentacles show us a small portion of the extent the Obama administration will go to accomplish their goals. It is not totally clear what those goals are but it is becoming obvious that they are not what the President and his representatives were elected to do! How does selling arms to felons profit and secure this country? How does allowing guns to go across the border to kill innocent Mexican citizens help anyone? How does arming the Zetas Cartel in Mexico help Mexico our ally? If it is indeed true that the Zetas are planning to overthrow the Mexican government, that makes us complicit in that revolt and responsible for the lives that will be lost. And then what about the drugs that we are enabling them to sell to our own American citizen? Add in the human smuggling and the cooperation that some of the drug cartels in Mexico have with Hezbollah, and you have a recipe for total disaster. Not just in this country but in the whole of North America! What could Mr. Obama and those that follow him have in mind for the future of this country? It surely isn’t our safety and security! It also isn’t in any shape or form to increase our economic welfare. Everything that they have done has been to bring the country down. When are our leaders in Congress going to open their eyes and realize that the man that occupies the White House is committing treasonous acts and must be stopped? Are they going to wait until he declares them irrelevant as he has recently threatened to do in the debt ceiling negotiations? Read the wrap up of the “Gunwalker” investigations and add them to the rest of what we know that this administration is doing. It is not a pretty picture and it is quite frankly, frightening in it’s scope! It also paints a picture of an administration that is lawless and has no fear of the consequences!

Gunwalker: One Step Closer to the Oval Office!! (via Randy’s Right)
This week’s revelations placed knowledge of the operation within the White House for the first time. July 29, 2011 – 9:31 am – by Mike McDaniel The cover-up is always worse than the crime: considering the Gunwalker scandal, it’s hard to know if that is true — for the moment. America is now a bit closer to that answer, and is also closer to an answer for the question at the heart of all Washington scandals: what did the president know, and when … Read More

Operation Fast & Furious: House committee to hear from agents based in Mexico
On Tuesday, July 26th, the U.S. House of Representatives‘ Oversight and Government Reform Committee will hold additional hearings as part of the ongoing investigation into the Department of Justice’s Operation Fast and Furious, a tragically flawed effort that is connected to deaths on both sides of the U.S./Mexico border.

“Command deck panic” at the Hoover Bldg as FBI fears someone will figure out their Gunwalker crimes.
The William LaJ. FOX piece on the FBI’s perversion of the NICS checks to facilitate the Gunwalker plot “went off like a bomb” in the Hoover building, according to my sources. “Command deck panic,” said one, with institutional mid-levels looking at Mueller and Company askance and asking “What would J. Edgar do?” The source answered that question: “Boy, I’ll bet J. Edgar is some kinda pissed.” He added, “He didn’t mind breaking the law, but he was purely allergic to getting caught at it.” Read the rest at:

Worse Than Gunwalker? State Dept. Allegedly Sold Guns to Zetas
Phil Jordan, a former CIA operative and one-time leader of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s El Paso Intelligence Center, claims that the Obama administration is running guns to the violent Zetas cartel through the direct commercial sale of military grade weapons:
Jordan, who served as director of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s El Paso Intelligence Center in 1995, said the Zetas have shipped large amounts of weapons purchased in the Dallas area through El Paso.
Robert “Tosh” Plumlee, a former CIA contract pilot, told the Times he supported Jordan’s allegations, adding that the Zetas have reportedly bought property in the Columbus, N.M., border region to stash weapons and other contraband.
“From the intel, it appears that a company was set up in Mexico to purchase weapons through the U.S. Direct Commercial Sales Program, and that the company may have had a direct link to the Zetas.”
The U.S. Direct Commercial Sales program is run from the U.S. State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. It regulates and licenses private U.S. companies’ overseas sales of weapons and other defense materials, defense services, and military training. This does not include the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, which authorized sales to foreign governments.
An El Paso Times article – as of now ignored by mainstream media — went into much more shocking detail:
“They’ve found anti-aircraft weapons and hand grenades from the Vietnam War era,” Plumlee said. Other weapons found include grenade launchers, assault rifles, handguns and military gear including night-vision goggles and body armor.
“The information about the arms trafficking was provided to our U.S. authorities long before the ‘Columbus 11′ investigation began,” said Plumlee, referring to recent indictments accusing several Columbus city officials of arms trafficking in conjunction with alleged accomplices in El Paso and Chaparral, N.M.
Jesús Rejón Aguilar, the number three man in the Zeta’s hierarchy, disclosed last week that the Zetas bought weapons in the United States and transported them across the Rio Grande. Mexican federal authorities captured Rejón on July 3 in the state of Mexico, and presented him to the news media the next day. His recorded video statement was uploaded on YouTube.
Jordan agreed with Plumlee’s allegations that the Zetas are operating in the Columbus-Palomas border.
Plumlee, who has testified before U.S. congressional committees about arms and drug trafficking, said the roads in Southern New Mexico provide smugglers easy access to Mexico’s highway networks.
Insight.org provides a map of the air-smuggling route originating in Dallas at Alliance Airport and ending in Columbus, New Mexico — a small town that has also been rocked by the arrests and guilty pleas of the town mayor and other elected officials who were running guns to a cartel safehouse, and then apparently into Mexico.
There is no direct link made as of yet between the Columbus, NM, officials case and the allegations of the Dallas-to-Columbus air smuggling route, but the possible connection should raise eyebrows. Read the rest at Pajamas Media:

Will Gunwalker morph into “Grenadewalker” soon?

Bob Owens of Pajamas Media, who was out in front of the Gunwalker scandal well in advance of the rest of us, brings to light yet another story this week which might make the last one look tame by comparison. If the allegations are true, informants with ties to the CIA are now chatting up another deal where we may have been running military grade weaponry to the violent Zetas cartel in Mexico.
Phil Jordan, a former CIA operative and one-time leader of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s El Paso Intelligence Center, claims that the Obama administration is running guns to the violent Zetas cartel through the direct commercial sale of military grade weapons…

The list of contraband here goes well beyond assault rifles, including “anti-aircraft weapons and hand grenades from the Vietnam War era” as well as, “grenade launchers… and military gear including night-vision goggles and body armor.”
The CIA connection comes via one of their contractors.

Zetas May Attempt to Overthrow Mexican Government in 2012?
Doug Ross has a provocative post, with a translation of an article in a Mexican website,
Former DEA and CIA Operatives: Los Zetas May Attempt to Overthrow Mexican Government in 2012 (Using U.S. Government Weapons)By Carmen Álvarez (Translated by Mario Andrade from excelsior.com.mx)
Los Zetas use the border crossings of El Paso-Ciudad Juarez and Palomas-Columbus (both locations along the Texas-Chihuahua border) to supply and stockpile military type weapons, which would give them ability to disrupt the 2012 elections, according to the El Paso Times.
That is a possibility, particularly when one could make the case that the Zetas brought about the current drug war from their reach for power.
The report is corroborated with an interview with Phil Jordan, former director of the DEA in El Paso, who stated that the stockpiles, which include anti-aircraft missiles, are transported from a Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. The consultant added that the criminals set up (phony) companies to buy weapons directly through a State Department program.…The Border Patrol personnel and U.S. intelligence services have recently learned that Los Zetas have been purchasing properties on both sides of the border to store thousands of high-power weapons that were discovered to be part of five or six shipments that left the same airport where the DEA has its air operations center… …[Los Zeta wants to] reinforce their troops for battling other cartels and possibly disrupt the 2012 elections in Mexico, El Paso Times reported yesterday. The National Scope of the Gunwalker Scandal. Lanny Breuer & four border state ATF SACs implicated in report. “Lions! And tigers! And bears! Oh, my!”
A report released as part of today’s third Gunwalker Scandal hearing conducted by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chaired by California Congressman Darrell Issa presents further evidence of the national scope of the scandal.
Among the findings presented in the report:
** In the fall of 2009, ATF officials in Mexico began noticing a spike in guns recovered at Mexican crime scenes. Many of those guns traced directly to an ongoing investigation out of ATF‟s Phoenix Field Division.
**As Operation Fast and Furious progressed, there were numerous recoveries of large weapons caches in Mexico. These heavy-duty weapons included AK-47s, AR-15s, and even Barrett .50 caliber rifles – the preferred weapons of drug cartels.
**At a March 5, 2010 briefing, ATF intelligence analysts told ATF and DOJ leadership that the number of firearms bought by known straw purchasers had exceeded the 1,000 mark. The briefing also made clear these weapons were ending up in Mexico.
** ATF and DOJ leadership kept their own personnel in Mexico and Mexican government officials totally in the dark about all aspects of Fast and Furious. Meanwhile, ATF officials in Mexico grew increasingly worried about the number of weapons recovered in Mexico that traced back to an ongoing investigation out of ATF‟s Phoenix Field Division.
** ATF officials in Mexico raised their concerns about the number of weapons recovered up the chain of command to ATF leadership in Washington, D.C. Instead of acting decisively to end Fast and Furious, the senior leadership at both ATF and DOJ praised the investigation and the positive results it had produced. Frustrations reached a boiling point, leading former ATF Attaché Darren Gil to engage in screaming matches with his supervisor, International Affairs Chief Daniel Kumor, about the need to shut down the Phoenix-based investigation.
** In spite of assurances that the program would be shut down as early as March 2010, it took the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol Agent in December 2010 to actually bring the program to a close.
** ATF officials in Mexico finally realized the truth: ATF was allowing guns to walk. By withholding this critical information from its own personnel in Mexico, ATF jeopardized relations between the U.S. and Mexico.
** The high-risk tactics of cessation of surveillance, gunwalking, and non-interdiction of weapons that ATF used in Fast and Furious went against the core of ATF‟s mission, as well as the training and field experience of its agents. These flaws inherent in Operation Fast and Furious made tragic consequences inevitable.
Less emphasized, but no less important, are these facts presented within the body of the report supporting the long-held suspicion that Fast & Furious was part of a national program of “gunwalking.”
Beginning on page 23 of the report:
G. March 5, 2010 Briefing
FINDING: At a March 5, 2010 briefing, ATF intelligence analysts told ATF and DOJ leadership that the number of firearms bought by known straw purchasers had exceeded the 1,000 mark. The briefing also made clear these weapons were ending up in Mexico.
Two months after the January 5, 2010 briefing, ATF headquarters hosted a larger, more detailed briefing. Not part of the normal Tuesday field ops briefings, this special briefing was dedicated to Operation Fast and Furious. David Voth, the Phoenix Group VII Supervisor who oversaw Fast and Furious, traveled from Phoenix to give the presentation. On videoconference were the four southwest border ATF SACs: Bill Newell in Phoenix, Robert Champion in Dallas, J. Dewey Webb in Houston, and John Torres in Los Angeles. (Emphasis supplied, MBV)
In addition to the usual attendees of the Tuesday morning field ops briefings (the Deputy Assistant Directors for Field Operations, including Bill McMahon, and Mark Chait, Assistant Director for Field Operations), Deputy Director William Hoover also attended. Joe Cooley, a trial attorney from the gang unit at Main Justice, also joined. After a suggestion from Acting ATF Director Ken Melson in December 2009, Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer personally assigned Cooley as a DOJ representative for Operation Fast and Furious. Kevin Carwile, chief of the Capital Case Unit at Main Justice, may have also been present. According to Steve Martin, the inclusion of Main Justice representatives was unusual. ATF Agents Admit Mistakes
From today’s House Oversight investigation into Fast and Furious.
Special Agent Newell just admitted that mistakes were made in Fast and Furious. “There should have been more frequent risk assessments.” As an example, he admitted they should have contacted a straw purchaser who bought 600 firearms. Read the rest by Howard Nemerov at the PJ Tattler:

Special Agent Canino, ATF Attaché to Mexico, Decries Gunwalker
From House Oversight on Fast and Furious:
Special Agent Canino, acting ATF attaché to Mexico, stated: “At no time, ever, did I know of ATF following known gun traffickers.” I had no clue we were allowing guys to act like this. Further quotes from Canino:
We have classes, I’ve been to them. It’s like building a house. You start with a foundation and you build.” Canino said you’re supposed to work a ways and then have a meeting to see how it’s working, then adjust, use the entire “toolbox” available to law enforcement.
I was so disgusted, I didn’t want to look at the case file anymore. It goes against everything we’re taught. From the day you walk into academy until the day you leave.” Read the rest at the PJ Tattler:
Gunwalker Update: FBI allowed felons to purchase weapons
Whatever happened to their oath to uphold the law?
It must have been one of those purely advisory things…
Feds Silent on How Convicted Felons Bought Guns in ‘Operation Fast and Furious’
By William La Jeunesse & Laura Prabucki | FoxNews
EXCLUSIVE: In the latest chapter of the gunrunning scandal known as Operation Fast and Furious, federal officials won’t say how two suspects obtained more than 360 weapons despite criminal records that should have prevented them from buying even one gun.
Under current federal law, people with felony convictions are not permitted to buy weapons, and those with felony arrests are typically flagged while the FBI conducts a thorough background check.
Either the current instant background checks are a feel good program with no actual teeth, or the FBI chose not to enforce Federal Law and allowed hundreds of weapons to flow into the hands of known felons.
The Obama Administration continues to interfere with the investigation.
